US Turn 13 I Corps AO
A combination or Airpower Arty and ground units have destroyed the trapped NVA in Quang Tri province, This is a good outcome for the US forces and proves that combined arms used effectively can destroy powerfull NVA units for few losses

US Turn 13 III Corps AO
ARVN forces including Para's and Marines have evaped a VC unit at An Loc in Phuoc Long province. In IV Corps AO US and ARVN forces have been busy on search and destroy missions 3 more VC units have been destroyed.

Yeah the 7th Fleets Task force 11.5 but the range of most of the ships is limited, destroyers are range 2 Light cruisers are range 3 and my one missile cruiser is range 5 so I don't think there will be much hitting power at long range.ORIGINAL: larryfulkerson

So the conflict rolls on into another year no more US ground units are called up although ive got a feeling that I will have to call up some Arty and some more infantry as the NVA seem intent on invading Quang Tri province, The two US Brigades ive got there 5th Mech and 11th ACR will have to stay put to deal with the NVA threat

I guess it depends how you look at it the NVA 308th division has has got two US brigades and half of the ARVN 1st infantry division commited to one province ?ORIGINAL: Rusty1961

US and ARVN forces conduct search and destroy missions in Vinh Binh and Kien Hoa provinces two VC battalions are eliminated, It seems that every time you kill one VC another shows up, IV Corps AO is proving to be a real hotbed of VC activity

III Corps AO Tay Ninh province two VC battalions are spotted approaching Chong Thanh city lucky for me both the ARVN 25th and 5th Divisions are active this turn and im able to contain and eliminate these two units ,It looks like the VC are spreading around the map I may be forced to call up another infantry formation ?

The US 11 ACR attacks and eliminates the NVA 26th Regiment dug in outside Quang Tri city, The NVA 308th HQ unit is shelled by the USN and hit with airpower this NVA division has become are real headache, Also in Binh Dinh Province the ARVN 23rd Division destroys a VC battalion im lucky this turn as a lot of my ARVN division are active last turn half my divisions where in reorg.

US Turn 15 February 1966
With the constant threat of the NVA in I Corps AO ive decided to call up the US 1st Infantry Division +3 to the EEV and the Artilery Group +2 to the EEV to provide firepower for the ground troops and cut down on losses of assault squads, I will most likely request replacements as the US ground forces in Quang Tri province all at about a third of there assault squad strenth.

I Corps AO The US 7th Fleet bombards the NVA 308th HQ i need to reduce there Arty threat, The US have sent 3 Arty regiments to beef up the us forces in Quang Tri including a number of M110 and M109 and M107s this should significantly increase US firepower.

In Phong Dinh province the ARVN 9th Division destroys a political section, In Tay Ninh province the ARVN 25th Division evaps a VC regiment in a search and destroy mission. A political section is evaped in Vinh Binh province by ARVN Rangers and in Bien Hoa province the VC 10th Sapper Regiment is destroyed.

Unfortunately, apart from the first few turns, I don't want to know too much so I'll avoid any more of your posts until I have played the scenario myself. Thanks Chris glad your enjoying the AAR hope you enjoy playing the scenario, The NVA and VC have stepped up there efforts while I've got a back log of units waiting to appear in there arrival hex including more Arty plus the whole of US 1st Division and the ROK Capital division has decided to arrive it will be 5 turns before it clears at least

US Turn 16 March 1966
I Corps AO There has been lots of NVA activity and it seems that charlie has realy stepped up his operations, To counter this the US Arty is going to work to cause as much damage as possible to the NVA, I think some more ground troops are needed in this area.

II Corps AO This area of operations has been quiet so far but there are signs that the VC are emerging from jungle hideouts and terrorising the local population, The ARVN 23rd Division is at hand to deal with this VC threat, there are no US forces in this area at the moment.

III Corps AO In Bien Hoa province the VC are active again, They are targeted by A1 Sky Raiders then destroyed by the ARVN 147th Marine Bde, In Tay Ninh province the ARVN 25th Division is on the defensive as the VC 9th Division cross the border from Cambodia, ARVN divisional Arty will shell the VC and dig in to await US troops from the arriving 1st Division

IV Corps AO Again there are multiple VC operations in Sa Dec, Chuong Thien, Vinh Binh and Chau Doc provinces, Troops from the ARVN 9th and 23rd Divisions plus the US 12th Aviation Group manage to search and destroy four VC units , There are not enough troops in IV Corps AO two ARVN Divisions two Ranger battalions plus some ARVN paras (in reorg)are too far apart to control this vast region i will need to supplement the US forces in this region (12th Aviation) with additional units before this year is over.

US Turn 17 April 1966
Monsoon is back and a lot of my ARVN Infantry divisions have gone into reorg, My US and Free world forces are still arriving this turn the lead elements of US 1st Infantry arrived and were shipped straight to Vung Tau from where they have headed to Saigon.Below is a pic of my reinforcements this turn.
