Midway is mostly a bird sanctuary now, but I believe the big albatross breeding ground is French Frigate Shoals.

There was a documentary series narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch called "Wild Pacific". It was primarily a wildlife documentary, but it was pretty interesting. They spent a fair bit of one episode at French Frigate Shoals and the albatross.

Isn't Midway an Albatross (Gooney Bird) colony now?

The place is covered over in 'em.

We know Hollywoods likes to 'invent' things in movies, wonder what it will be in this one. How about, the Japanese win?
Then the USS Nimitz will have a reason to travel back in time.

Eh, its Hollywood, and they're into making money, not documentaries. We'll see.

Missed this one. I think because of the forum. If so, from what I know about the movie... Thanks guys.[:)]

You owe me one then. That means *you* have to go see the new Midway movie and report back to us. It's the least you can do after [shudders] that movie.

I shall do no such thing sir. Sounds like it could be cruel and inhuman punishment. Although if the cast is good I could possibly get through it.[:D]

"Stand-ins and photo doubles"

Imagine a different movie about the Leyte Gulf and all those stand-ins needed for the sinking of "Zuikaku".

A Chinese company is involved. Maybe their carrier will come back in time and sink both the Japanese and the American carrier fleets . . .
