Okie dokie....I've moved everybody and have 9 battles scheduled and these
are they. Let me say this about that: A lot of those battles are airstrikes
and I don't expect much from all of them.

Here's how the Pearl strike made out. It was a clean sweep as all the BB's
were sunk as well as some assorted aircraft. No need for a second strike,
it's time to get outta Dodge.

Here's the results of my one-dot attack at Guam. I thought that with all the
ship support and the air support that not much would be required of the LCU
but evidently a one-dot attack doesn't begin to address the need. This calls
for more support yet and a three-dot attack by the LCU. Then maybe.

Edit: Yeah, I know I spelled Guam wrong on the picture. I'm inebriated, it happens.

Here's the results of the bombardment of Wake by my ship support Plus an
airstrike by a some bombers from a CV. I got off lightly and so did the
Allies unfortunately. It's going to take more than that to push over the
defenders here at Wake.

Here's the results of the strike on Allied Force Z. I'm alarmed at the
number of bombers that were lost. I know that most of them are just those
that got broken and not destroyed but still, I got raked by a lot of good
AA guns I guess.

Hong Kong fell on the first attack. It's all the ship support I think.

Here's how many attacks there were in the first turn. I'm going to end the
turn now in order to get it to Rob sooner because I promised that I'd get
it to him ASAP.

Larry,

Very interesting. This is going to be epic, as you said!

I checked out Warspite's post too - I will not tell you anything though. It is very interesting to see the different perspectives.

All the best,
Mike

All the best,
Hey there Mike man...In the WITP-AE/After Action section there's a lot of double posing going on and it really IS fascinating to see both sides at the same time. It's kind of frustrating too for the readers NOT to say something seemingly innocent that helps the player figure out the solution to a problem he should not have been able to solve. That kind of thing. Happens all the time, by sincere truthful people who meant no malice at all. I don't get too stired up by that kind of thing. This is just a friendly game after all. I've given warspite1 permission to peruse page 1 of this AAR already because all the non-stale OPSEC is on page 2 so far. Page one was just me getting aquainted with the scenario and a rough draft of what I intended at Pearl and Manila, which by the time he reads it will have already happened and there's nothing for him to do to prevent it at all. I hope he watches the playback because I did something fancy with my carriers approaching Pearl.

Which gives me a good idea. Why don't I post the file that gets written to my hard drive by the game engine ( PBEM++ ). No wait, that won't work because that's the file that gets sent to my opponent. And I don't know his password. Come to think of it, I don't remember inputting a password besides the one I used for the challenge. Maybe there is no password. Anyway that would give the reader the situation as it exists and he/she could check out the dialogs and reports and get the nity grity on the units etc. Is there any interest in that sort of thing?

I have reason to believe that this file is the one that gets sent to Rob. So when
control is returned to you it'll probably be the Allied side that you'll see, unless
I'm full of crap. Which is possible. I haven't had a bowel movement in a while so....

But I don't want to load it on my machine myself because it's Rob's situation and I
don't have any business knowing about any of that. It's for me to figure out on my
own. Scouts honor and all that.

Just download it, unzip it, and load it as a saved PBL file.

EDIT: The password is "password" without the quotes.

Here's all the attacks that Rob did in his turn. Two of the bombardments
didn't go off all that well as the friendly losses were substantial.

Here's the news strings for this turn. It's got news reguarding Rob's BB's and
it's good news, some of the sunk BB's can be floated again. Rob will like that.
I'm glad the Pearl strike got good hits, that will make things easier for me to
expand and grab more territory.

Here's what some of it looks like currently. I've made landings on the PI
and I took Hong Kong and Wake and Guam and I'm marching south in Malaya and
I'm on the offensive in northern China. I need to move some troops to the
South Pacific to expand the perimeter.

Rob sailed all the ships that were at Pearl to the west coast to keep them
safe and I suppose so he won't be tempted to try something adventuresome.

Here's the Rabaul area currently. I've got plans to grab a lot of the little
islands surrounding Australia just to try to isolate the continent from the
rest of the map so to speak.

Here's the Manila area currently and you can see my ships offshore bombarding
the Allied stacks and airfield strikes on the Allied planes. Rob bombarded
my ships with his RR arty during his turn and I think he may have damaged
some of my ships. I'll have to check the resolved attacks dialog to see. He
hasn't dispatched any troops to oppose my movements so I guess most of the
island is potentially mine already.
