The Soviet defense is very professional and good at slowing us down.

1. August 1941

Japan has been quiet for a while, no longer. Japan surprise attacks and takes DEI, Malaya, New Guinea, Guam, Nauru and Hong Kong. All US forces in these territories are destroyed. Pearl Harbor is not attacked.

With the US distracted Germany makes a surprise attack on Turkey. It is a bit of an impromptu attack with no air power, however, the calculation is that with Egypt taken the Allies should not be able to intervene.

We need that rail line to the Middle East!

Finland joins the Axis. It seems British forces are poised to take the port of Petsamo.

Less resistance in the south, but summer is almost over.

29. August 1941

India attacks Afghanistan, not much we can do about it.

Italy struggles with supply in Sudan.

German forces close on Ankara, Turkey should fall next month.

In northern Russia, the advance is slow. In the south the only thing holding us back is lack of supply.

Japan takes Indochina.

Soviet northern defenses are very strong. In 1942 we should perhaps refocus our effort towards Moscow.

Moscow is lightly screened, unsure about the actual defenses. Stalingrad is defended by "General Mud", one of the USSR's best generals it seems.

24. October 1941

Germany loses a corps in a counter-attack on the Moscow front.

The Allies declare war on Persia. We were perhaps planning to do so ourselves. The situation in the Middle East is now quite interesting, but I think we should be able to turn it into an Axis advantage. (Turkey surrenders at the end of the turn).

Persia surrenders to the Allies. There seems to be a major concentration of Indian forces near Tehran.

Japan also declares war on the USSR. Normally I think this is a bit gamy, but there are no Soviet border units at all and a single corps in Vladivostok.

The eastern front is mostly static despite good weather. We enter an empty Stalingrad. Rundstedt's HQ gets knocked about a bit from a local counter-attack.

19. December 1941

Japan captures Vladivostok and continues the invasion of India. As expected, so far the resistance is light.

Germany prepares a defensive line for the coming winter. Only around Grozny does the offensive continue, with limited success.
