I don't see anything odd in these results. The first thing to consider is AV does not equal firepower (CR has shown us in his AARs that low odds tank attacks can be quite effective). The Allies had a lot of tanks which did a lot of damage but actually took a bath in the first attack, allowing the second IJ attack to come off much better.
