When I try to install the new Beta (8U6, I think) I get this error at the beginning. Any idea how to solve it?

As for the registry.
Get Matrix for Matrix edition.
Get Steam for steam edition.

The options files was recreated because I added something to the file for color blind players. Data was changes and the file reset for that reason.

I did that (download the steam version, since i have that one), but the error persist. MKaybe is somethin on my side.

That message is correct and will rework the options file to default.

The other thing you can do is uninstall WP in Steam.

##Goto
C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\My Games\WarPlan\

##Delete
folder = Campaigns
file = playerDataSteam.dat
file = options.dat

and reinstall.

Then if you want overlay the beta again.

This should completely reset the game.

Thanks for thew answer Alvaro. I have the feeling that updating to 1.00.08 have fixed it.

Tried installing beta alongside 1.0.08 official release. Get warning about options file, but then just a blank screen. Never had an issue running a beta alongside official release before. I did also update scenarios.

Delete this file and run it again. It shouldn't do that as there is an error catch that prevents the green screen.
It will remove the options file and create a new one.

C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\My Games\WarPlan\options.dat

Did that. Different message, still end up with a blank screen. Do not have any issue with 1.0.08 running.

It isn't creating the new option file - wondering if an AV issue. Digging

Issue resolved - BitDefender "Safe Files" was blocking WarPlan from being able to update the options file.

I want to make a pitch that this should only be when in port.

Is there a case in WWII history where a unit left port as a raider, and didn't stay on a raider mission the entire time at sea.

The challenge, as I see it, is that if the Germans raid, the UK needs to use smaller fleets or, with the rules for engaging at sea, it takes insane luck to stop a raider, especially early in the war. You can chase a German raider with all your carriers and surface fleets and they almost NEVER engage. Even after the air "spots" them, surface fleets don't engage. So to have any chance, the UK seems to need to use more, smaller fleets to increase the odds. But if you do, you end up with small, unsupporting fleets vulnerable - right next to the Axis.

Wasn't it port or 2 Ops points only? If so, I am suggesting dropping the 2 ops and making it port only.

I upgraded just to let you know it still says 9u4 but Ireland has an army and landing craft cost 25 so it seems updated.

Bugs U14

Started a hotseat 1939 scenario under 9U14. Found a couple of odd things.

1) British navalunits nor French cannot move through Gibraltar. For example the Sub on Malta cant get into the Atlantic.

2 From my games with Malkarma. Axis minor airunits cannot use the German pool of Supplytrucks but landunits can.

Sorry, it seems that I did not explain it well, if you update only gamedata without updating scneranios it works fine, the problem appears when updating scenarios.

Reinstalled evertyhing. Tried with update beta before and after updating the scenarios but I cant make it work. UK and French ships and units cannot get through Gibraltar in the 39 campaign.

Edit: Works now with the previous version of scenarios but not with the latest ones.
