Game over - a loss...

What did I do right?

My use of the mobile artillery and MLRS was great. The MLRS took out 141 soviet units, including 96 tanks. My M109s took out another 35 tanks.

Mines – I think the placement of the artillery delivered mines also helped to slow down the Soviets.

Deployment of my reserve went well and was timely. If I had not moved them when I did, the result would have been worse.

What could I improve on?

I gave up too much space, too early. The 28,000 VPs that the Soviet picked up from objective hexes were the biggest difference. I was worried about that from the outset, but I should have sacrificed depth for more forward defences.

My countermoves from the NW were too late. If I had launched them earlier, I might have been able to blunt the Soviet advance.

Overall, it was a very amusing and fun battle. I really enjoyed it.

There was something off about the AH. Mine did nothing and the Soviets did not even use their hinds.

I may try this one again. It was very enjoyable. Here is a look at the end locations and what the Soviets actually had coming my way.

Is that the Fulda scenario I designed? Looks familiar!

I was Navy, but Assigned TAD to the 24th MAU Hq in Beirut. By far the finest period of my service!

Al,

Yes, it is. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing it!

I'm going to be trying it again - to do better, I hope!

All the best,
Mike
