My guess is this Dnepr screen could be done with more than 3 times less unit density, it's not like the Soviets will make assaults across the Dnepr. And if they did, it wouldnt really matter.
With a light regiment screen on the river, half of the divisions could be resting or assisting the 1PzG "fist" assaults.
And actually with the CPP rules, the German units shouldn't be on the front line at all, unless you absolutely want to hold that ground. You'll get 3x CPP by not being in contact with enemy or in pending hex at the end of your turn. It's the Red Army's responsibility to build the lines, Germans are there to break them
