RE: German Leader Pack (2 versions)
The reason ld0312 is missing is because his entry in the leader csv is empty. Does anyone know who he is?

Outstanding, the historical flags mod worked like a charm! Thank you!
The Wehrmacht that set out to conquer Russia in 1941 was a poor army with strictly limited resources.

RE: German Leader Pack (2 versions)
Flor1976, I am not sure what that would look like. We have two different visions but the same goal. We both want to see good images representing leaders and equipment. Hagar leans more on the existing game design. And his stuff looks amazing. Great mod.
I started doing this because I wanted to see better quality images as well and I wanted to have the historical flag. The current vanilla flag version does give me the vibes of WWII. Second, I would like to use black and white images because that is how most WWII imagery and videos are presented. Unlike Hagar who want to stick to the time of conflict photography, I don’t mind using post-war leader images. My thought on that is that it is the same person and I put a higher emphasis on the quality of an image I am also not a fan of the faded flag as it often overlaps leaders or equipment. I used my flags to bring in a splash of color. When you look at the vanilla leader image counters you see that the color inside them is still WITE1 colors. For me black and white images lign it up with the scenario and event images. I personally think sepia colored images look a bit dated.
These are my thoughts. Not sure what a combined mod would look like. But where we could maybe team up is on quality control to ensure we use accurate and the best images. When you have so many image it is easy to make mistakes.

RE: German Leader Pack (2 versions)
I agree... I do use a sepia hue, but a severely toned down one.
The both of us envision the same goal, despite some differences in our approach. In terms of quality control I have no qualms speaking out, and have done so before. Likewise everyone is welcome to criticize my work, as it will only make it better. Whatever a player will choose to use, either one of our mods or a hybrid version of both of them, it will enhance the experience the game brings out of the box, IMHO. And I am pleased to be able to offer a small part in that. In the end, what works best is in the eye of the beholder. In my case, I've made my mod to enhance my own gaming experience, and it felt a shame not to share it with others, to be enjoyed as much as it can be. I am sure cblattmann is doing it for the very same reasons. As such the common player is blessed to be able to cherry-pick what works best on a case-by-case basis. I can only be humbled by the work cblattmann has put in, and can only ensure from first-hand experience that the both of us have done our research, and are offering an option based on hundreds of hours of work, and by that alone, needs to be appreciated.

RE: German Leader Pack (2 versions)
I totally agree. I started just like Hagar out to update my own game. In fact Hagar's work and the quality of his images gave my the nudge necessary to give it a try. And the process has been fun and challenging (some imagery is very hard to come by). I also learned lot.

RE: German Leader Pack (2 versions)
Thank you for the kind words. Indeed, some of that imagery is very, very hard to come by...
I truly dislike to use generic imagery to cover up the fact to have struck out. It is one of the reasons I include telltale signs in my images to prove it is displaying the real deal. Like the 'Beutepanzer' proudly showing their German markings, or the Soviet M3 tank having crude Russian texts written on it. Even for the less obvious ones I have gone the extra mile... Like for the aircraft recon images, where I prefer to display a 'camera' theme whenever I can. One might not be able to tell that the image is a 1:1 match with the actual aircraft it is lined up for, as it focuses on the 'recon' part, making it difficult or even next to impossible to match the airframe with the model it's used for. But I can assure you they are either a 1:1 match or at the very least not that far off (with Denniss going overboard on all the German aircraft sub-types [;)]).
