AGS. Russian forces are more sparse in the South. But then so are mine.

This is going as I expected. The strat is clever, but imo does not really fix fundamental problems.

If the Sovs actually got their armor boost early in 42 the way they used to, different story. That would keep them in the game in 42 with all that armor running around and actually being able to counterattack. But as is...I think the big blob around Moscow just gets flanked north and south in the 42 campaign season and either is forced to retreat or risks being pocketed.

LL will be intermittent at best and probably gone for good sometime mid 42 as you reach Arkhangelsk.

The early British landing was not worth it, imo. Britain has shot its bolt. You may not like the RN off France, but the fact is this leaves the Regia Marina to respond in kind in the Med as you have already done. And the UK shot its wad in France rather than trying to go after a knockout blow in the Med.

Just don't fight those tanks head on and you win.

Forget Moscow and run wild on those flanks.

AGN. Yeah I will generally avoid the tank armies unless I can get in a position to destroy or isolate them. This turn 3 Russian Armies and 2 Corps are destroyed. The Murmansk rail line is cut.

AGC. In the center the Russian continue to pull back a hex per turn in the middle. My units try flanking a bit to the South and North of the Russian lines.

It was a Canadian HQ closest to my lines; but the 3rd Canadian Corps is coming to try and rescue its comrades. A tired German Armour arrives from Normandy.

I forgot to take a screenshot, but the Kriegsmarine steams once again into the Atlantic North of Ireland.

SEPTEMBER 12, 1941

The trapped Canadian Corps fights its way out of the pocket; but it is so weakened that it is overrun anyway.

AGC. the trapped Russian Tank will probably be rescued. But the Russians lost 1 Tank Corps, 4 Armies and 2 Cavalry Corps this turn. I would probably be surrendering right now if I was the Allies.

SEPTEMBER 26, 1941

Instead of surrendering the Russians successfully attack several hexes. Not a bad idea as it increases Russian National Morale and depletes his low experience tank units so that they can receive higher experience replacements. I usually do this in the Winter, but the advantage of doing in the summer is that the Russian units aren't halved and have more mobility.

The South. I destroy another Russian Tank and 2 rifle corps. But my attempt to destroy a 2nd Russian tank accomplishes nothing except to deplete my forces.

Axis rail lines in Russia at the start of my turn. Supply is not a problem for the Axis. This is why I think the best solution to balance the game is to reduce rail repair in Russia from 3 hexes per turn to 2 hexes per turn. But who knows, maybe YueJin will turn this game around. He certainly has the Armour for it. Now he just needs more infantry armies.

As expected the Allies run away in East North Africa.

In the BOA the Germans sink 8 MS but the British actually must have built an MS as their total rises from 39 to 41. Still, their production and oil must be hurting.

You are knocking on Ivanov's door and have Voronezh. A panzer raid from these locations would sever the remaining rail connections to Moscow. So I don't see how he recovers from that, armor or no. In fact, if you get some lucky cold weather turns, he might not even make it far into 1942.

Since you are already sitting on the Murmansk rail, bad weather just means he gets no LL. Without massive US aid (and it has to come from them, the British are broke) good luck trying to cover the flanks with new construction.

It's just a question of time here. You've got this.

The North

I could have captured Ivanov this turn but I screwed up my attacks. Otherwise Rain or Heavy puts a halt to all offensive operations.
