Been playing on 3080 tier now and the same max-size games that were choppy before have consistently been smooth as silk. No issues at all and maybe one crash in twenty hours?
I wonder how much of this is down to NVidia just having a totally consistent system with latest drivers and optimised configurations. I can't believe that they are just throwing more and more RAM/CPU/GPU at it until it runs smooth, although maybe....
Gives me hope that soon these issues will be resolved for more people with their various windows systems and hardware.
My experience with various linux setups is that it is playable but patience is needed for those intermittent UI lockups.

The 3080 tier gets a much more powerful CPU and the single thread CPU performance seems to be the bottleneck on quite a few systems.

In this reddit thread, they are mentioning settings not being saved. Supposedly this is by design, for a few games at least.

Can you or someone else on the 3080 tier please check for the setting in the app that they are mentioning that lets you save the settings?

I am thinking what they must be referring to is that there are two options for the settings in GFN, one is use NVidias recommended settings and one is to save your in-game settings.
I always used the NVidias settings option (save turned off) because I log in from various devices, sometimes with 1080 resolution and sometimes from my chromebook which is different. Also my UI settings depend on my device, So for me having settings persist wouldn't work brilliantly, at least, that was my reasoning...
However I just tried it with use in-game-graphic settings and it did not persist across sessions whether it was enabled or not, so I guess it depends on how the game has been set up between the publisher/dev and GFN.

It started happening yesterday, with the latest update...
Try reporting on the geforceNow tech support forums as well. Last time it happened they were able to fix it.

DW2 doesn't seem to have the highest priority at Nvidia. :/

It's been unavailable on GFN for a week now.

I assume that it's because they patched in automatic sending of crash reports. GFN seems very stingy with their permission rights. It might be a very easy fix on their end, but I assume that it has very low priority because there aren't that many DW2 players on GFN.

I'm not sure what caused this, but it seemed to coincide with our initial addition of harmony modding, which included a bad DLL. I can hope that when 1.0.3.5 goes official next week with a fix for that it will resolve this.

Thanks for being aware. GFN is something I have come to rely on for gaming on the move.
FWIW, the performance on linux seems to be benefiting from the patches, or at least my laptop fans are having to strain less while cooling the hamsters down.

Can we get an update on this please? The game is not available on GEForce NOW for several months now. I have a Mac and the only way I can play the game is through GEForce NOW. I am sure I am not alone in this.

Please give tell us when we can expect Distant Worlds 2 back on GeForceNow cloud gaming.

I was big fan of DW 1, and bought DW 2 as soon as it was listed on GeForceNow, but it does not seem to be available now.

I hope they fix this by the Return of the Shakturi release. I will not buy the expansion if they don't because I literally can't play the game outside of GE Force Now since I don't have a PC. I am sure developers are really busy but I wish Erik would make an official comment about this one way or another. GE Force Now is being used by more and more people so I am certain they are losing sales because of this.

At this point there are no plans to bring DW2 to GeForceNow at this point. However, we can suggest reaching out GeForceNow reps and request they add the game back on.
