Has anyone else started the later war scenarios, for example Stalingrad to Berlin with soviets being controlled by AI? When I start this scenario the game dies in the first turn while AI is controlling Soviet actions. Using v1.02.39 beta. It does not appear to be a problem in the grand campaign scenarios.

In the 1941 Campaign the USSR the AP's that the Soviet Union receive in 1941 each turn has decreased from 25 to 20 in the new patch. Why was this done (cannot find information in what's new readme)?

With 25 AP per turn, Soviets could get assault fronts, build forts and depots, and also get basically all their best leaders onto the map and in charge of armies very quickly, even in 1941 well before winter. The latter in particular is a bit ahistorical - Soviets were not known for having the best leaders in the summer and fall of 1941 historically. Also, in games hat went to 1943/44, Soviets would often have up to 1000 or so unused AP by 1944, because they simply ran out of useful things to spend AP on.

We felt the Germans had too many vehicles, based on the fact that most units start overstocked with supplies at the start, and these vehicles go back to the pool when the excess supplies are shed. We've continued with a complete review of all vehicle production, mobilization and lend lease. In a version we just released to testers, and which we hope will be out next week, additional changes were made. Soviet lend lease will be much reduced in the next update, while there was some modification to the vehicle production.
All understanding comes after the fact.

I have yet to have AP surpluses in any game, except for '41 Soviet stomp games. In fact, my AP almost always ends the turn near 0 on both sides. I think players should be using them more to build forts, continue to improve leaders, build new units etc.
