Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 73, December 7 1943
US&Pacific: Supply situation on Guadalcanal complicates reinforcing and upgrading. It’s almost impossible. I already loaded two marines into amphibious transport to get them away from there. My sub north to New Guinea was almost destroyed by three Jap destroyers and escort carrier. Afterwards he put his destroyers around my sub, so it would get into ambush when try to escape. I love my subs, and decided to react. Two light cruisers and two heavy cruisers easily sunk two Jap destroyers. It is a bit risky, because I can lose my cruisers, if there are Japanese carriers nearby. I guess risk was worth it, because he would have only few destroyers left to fight my subs, and if he can’t do it effectively, that would be big advantage for me. I could raid, recon or just hunt his ships more freely. I wonder if he would try to retaliate. If he does, there are some US NAVY battleships and two carriers a bit more in the rear, ready to engage. McArthur reached Ceylon. US strategically moved one fighter north of Calcutta, but put it into „ground mode”. US NAVY is going to continue blockade of New Guinea and Rabaul. China: Chinese set their positions in Lanzhou and Ningxia. But morale is very low. India/Burma: Japanese air force destroyed fully recovered RAF fighter. They also attacked on multiple directions, but since their air force was busy, couldn’t achieve any kill. UK bough an Army unit. We are going to need it badly. There is a light of hope, because I checked forward Jap units and they have supply around 4. This should turn the tide a little in my favor. Other theaters: Australia deployed Corps at Perth and it will go to India soon.
Remarks: British Empire finally got Infantry Weapons 2! And US got Advanced fighters 4! I will need to move one more US fighter to India too, and make a surprise for Herr Petisch!
Science and Diplomacy: USA invested in Heavy Bombers 3 and Spying&Intelligence 3.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 75. December 27, 1943
US&Pacific: Japanese fleet showed up and sunk my one Light Cruiser and two Heavy Cruisers with their Aircraft Carriers. I don’t have eyes so deep, so I sent my sub which run into Jap Heavy Cruiser. I sent my Battleship and light Cruiser to destroy it, but it was able to run away with 1 point left. Then I realized most probably main forces of IJN are in the area. I stopped engaging, while I am in unfavourable position. Those ships will be lost most probably, maybe except submarine, because If my calculations are correct, Petisch has only two-three destroyers left and no anti-submarine warfare. What is interesting also his cruisers look not upgraded, only one had Naval Weapons 1. Anyway I withdraw my ships from the area, I need to resupply and upgrade them(Adv fighters for Carriers, strength points for battleships, also AA level 2). Let him come if he dares. I got eyes all around New guinea, 2 maritime bombers and an airship. Time will show if those losses were worth it for my subs. Meanwhile two of my subs are operating near Japan raiding convoys. Another Sub run into Jap destroyer near Philippines. Marines attacked Buna, and are trying to recover after bloody battle of Guadalcanal. China: Japanese pursuit, Chinese withdrew HQ’s even deeper into interior. India/Burma: Japanese destroyed one Australian Corps, and facing flanking maneuver, I needed to withdraw Australians closer to Chittagong. Japanese Naval bombers attacked Port Blair and my battleship there, but they caused only 1 point damage. What’s good news, McArthur, AA unit and two fighters are now ready to face Japan in the skies over India! Just in case one US corps is heading India too. Japanese Armies attacking the British didn’t got that much success, but they are fearful enemy - they got 3 stars experience after Chinese campaign. Australia bought a corps and British bought an Army. I need to hold on till reinforcements will arrive in February 1944, and count on McArthur fighters to protect the skies. Remarks: Time for 1943 evaluation soon. I am not satisfied with current situation. It’s not bad, but could be much better.
Science and Diplomacy: US invested second chit in Long-range aircraft.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 77, January 16 1944
US&Pacific: Just as I thought 2 american battleships and Australian destroyer were sunk. Marines finally took Buna, but they are trapped there. My six divisions and HQ are doing nothing, because they are trapped! US NAVY was replenishing its losses and upgrading Carriers. US sent tanks unit to India. Addtional units appeared in USA: strategic bomber, mechanized infantry and Paratroopers. China: China lost Army defending Lanzhou. India/Burma: Australia lost an Army. I ordered retreat to all allied forces in Burma. Good thing US fighters worked, I guess they made some losses for Japanese fighter escorts. Other theaters: Japanese marines took Attu and Kiska Islands! Good move for Petish got some morale points for free. I sent one sub to patrol around there, maybe they will get lucky.
Remarks: I am not satisfied by the picture. I need to move forward either to Batavia or Manila, but instead I am losing ground. And now Japanese will take Lanzhou some of their forces will be free. It’s bad. Port Moresby and Rabaul are heavily defended. Saipan also. His fleet is waiting for my next invasion. I am stuck. I need to ponder what to do in 1944. Its a half game, and I am not in a very good position. My guts are telling me that behind outer ring of Islands there are not many Jap forces guarding strategic points. But I need some starting position to load my marines and HQ, artillery and tank to go. I can’t swim in amphibious transport all the way from Australia to Philippines. He has Naval Bomber in Palau, he will see it all. I will think it over tomorrow.
Science and Diplomacy: Soviets invested in mobility, USA in AA 3.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
1944 Strategy
1943 Strategy was only partially fulfilled. I did take Guadalcanal, but Port Moresby and Rabaul are still in Japanese hands. I made micro landings on Sumatra which brought some breathing air fo Burma, but not for long. In short, I am not satisfied with the results.
The goal from game’s perspective is to take Manilla or Batavia. Question is is it possible by the end of 1944? And by what means I should achieve that? I noticed Japanese fortifications around Batavia. It might be a hard nut to crack, although it seems to be closer.
Current situation is that Petisch have fully upgraded(mobility!) and experience land Army, which put China on its knees and is punching heavily Allies in Burma. It was done on the expense of the IJN. I could see, that his battleships and Cruisers aren’t upgraded, for example he has Naval weaponry 2, but I believe he only applied it for his Carriers. On the opposite US NAVY is upgraded with Naval Weapons and AA level 2. Destroyers are also upgraded with Anti-submarine warfare 2, but it seems not important since I sunk his subs. Conclusion is that he can’t face my Navy in open battle, he would be crushed by my tech and numbers. He can however, use Islands as strongholds for his air force, fighters, Naval Bombers and Kamikazes. I should do anything to avoid this kind of engagement.
Therefore I should seek large air-naval battle in which I should decimate his fleet and carriers and gain free hand in conducting my amphibious operations. I should drag him in it, provoke him to fight he can’t win.
Main goal for 1944: decimate Imperial fleet and air force, gain freedom for amphibious operations. Take Manila by the end of the year, or at least gain foothold to land on Philippines by the beginning of 1945.
Supplementary goal: Tie Japan in India, lure them into war of attrition, make them spend their MPP’s for this campaign. Defend Calcutta. Destroy/block Port Moresby and Rabaul.
Means: Use power of air force to destroy Japanese forces in India. Send US strat bomber, and Tactical and medium bombers there. Bomb them flat. Send some tanks there. Built additional land forces for USA. Invest in amphibious warfare, so I could inflict more damage on the Japanese defenders when landing. Make a foothold in Moluccas. Perform some raids on Dutch East India to deceive Japanese where is main Allied effort going. Do it all in the american way: rely on air superiority and firepower.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 79, February 5 1944
US&Pacific: US Navy’s Holland sub lay ambush for returning Japanese Marines from Attu and Kiska. UK sub is coming to also assist in this operation. One lone american battleship bombed on Rabaul port to keep the forces there cut off. USA spend loads of points to upgrade all its marines to inf weapons 2, to upgrade paratroopers and mechanized infantry and tanks etc. Carrier's planes were upgraded to fighters 4 and long range 3. Battleships received AA weapons 2, because I fear kamikaze attacks. China: Nothing to, see, Japanese took Lanzhou, destroyed garrison unit, and are attacking Ningxia. Chinese morale is 16%.
India/Burma: Japanese are on the loose. They surrounded last Chinese army at Chittagong. I will evacuate by sea, if it will survive at least one turn there. They took Imphal, and destroyed a corps, but! It seems my fighters started to make a difference. He was desperate to finish off my core defending Imphal, and he sent his medium bombers to attack without escorts(he has only one fighter there) I guess he started to got some serious losses in MPP’s. Planes are expensive toys, especially for Japan. In May I will get USAF units: 2 medium bombers, 1 tactical, 1 maritime. I also already have one strategic bomber in USA and Chinese-American strategical in India. I will move it to India and hopefully turn the tide a bit, by destroying supply routes. British forces withdrew from Ledo, Japanese destroyed Australian AA unit(also desperate attack, to finish it off with...planes!) Some British and AU units I finally upgraded to level 2 tanks and infantry weapons. I deployed British Army, and next turn another Army and SF are coming too. With air cover, I am looking forward to stop Japanese advance. Other theaters: Australia bought an Army.
Remarks: From careful observation I extracted valuable intel: location of all Japanese SF forces. 4 of them are in Port Moresby and Rabaul (confirmed by airship). S&I revealed also one SF on Saipan and one SF in Lagaspi, Philippines). The remaining two must still be on Aleut Islands. Very good to know! Also previous S&I show a garrison on Penape, and air recon a garrison on Eniwetok. I don’t know what is on Truk. Also I confirm one Jap fighter at Sorong and Altape(New Guinea’s west and centre, north coast). Therefore I am having a plan to drag Japanese into Naval battle, by invading Eniwetok, Penape and Truk. I will not put my forces into meat grinder of Rabaul and port Moresby. I will just keep them there by systematically destroying port. Science and Diplomacy: USA invested in amphibious warfare 4 (added a chit to ongoing research). Next turn I need to add a chit for Advanced Fighters 5.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 81, February 25 1944
US&Pacific: US fired at Rabaul port again. Other vessels are still repairing and upgrading their AAs. Marines are preparing to leave to Australia by amphibious transport for refit. Intteligence shows Jap battleship at Kagashima and garrisons at Soerbabja and Lorengan. Also Japanese Army was noticed in Manilla.(Not a surprise, but good to have confirmation). Paratroops and mechanized infantry left Los Angeles. Marine tank reached Calcutta, USAF strategic bomber was also moved to India. As soon as marines are ready I will begin offensive.
China: Japanese siege Ningxia, Chinese try to block the road to Urumqi.
India/Burma: Japanese destroyed Chinese Army in Chittagong, but what is interesting there was no air attacks from Japanese side. They must have felt when they tried last time! Chittagong was bombed flat by Sino-American strat bomber. Australian SF and UK Paratroop attacked Japanese tanks and forced them to retreat. Other British forces orderly withdrew west. Additional UK Army was deployed. Other theaters: Australia has to cores to send ready in Perth.
Remarks: I need to fix my subs and send them as quick as possible for recon missions. Holland sub did not find any Japanese amphibious transports around Aleutes. Where are they? In case Petisch is mad, I upgraded garrisons on Midway and Wake.
Science and Diplomacy: UK invested in mobility. USA haven’t got points to add second chit for Adv Fighters, need to do it next turn!

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 83 March 16 1944
US&Pacific: Nothing much. One of the marine divisions is finally ready. Another two came to Australia. Additional two will come soon. One was ready before, on Guadalcanal. I fired at Rabaul port and Port Moresby. Mechanized troops, HQ and Paratrooper are on their way from states. US sub spotted Jap light cruiser near Aleuts. Another sub is coming there together with light cruiser, to check it out. US NAVY repaired almost all its battleships. I guess I need at least two marine division to take an Island with garrison. Unfortunately I can’t upgrade and recover my marines faster. Hopefully I won’t rely only on them, since US ARMY contingent is coming. Intelligence reported Kamikaze unit on Okinawa. HQ near Legaspi, Philippines and confirmed fighters at Sorong oil hex.
China: Japs took Ningxia.
India/Burma: Japanese destroyed light tanks, they needed to finish it off with an airstrike, but I bet it was painful for Petisch air force. In my turn I made strategic bombers bomb Imphal and Dijiour. I wonder how he will advance with no supply. I also counterattacked on one of his 3 star experienced Army, and put it down to 4 points. I had no hopes in eliminating it, but at least when he reinforce, he will lose this exp. Additional allied units arrived, also British finally upgraded all their units to Infantry Weapons 2 standard. I wonder how now Japanese will advance! Other theaters: Australia sent two cores to India. US Cavalry division embarked in amphibious transport, ready for some distraction action in Moluccas.
Remarks: I need to speed up landings, gain more turf.
Science and Diplomacy: USA invested in Industrial Production and Naval Construction.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 85 April 5 1944
US&Pacific: Subs and Light Cruiser are cruising around Attu and Kiska, with no enemy in sight. It might mean there are no Japanese anymore. I fired at Rabaul, and bring to Guadalcanal battleships after repairs. US si concentrating before attack. Additional troops are flowing from the States to Australia: HQ, Mechanized, Paratroopers. Soon Heavy tanks too.
China: Japs finished off corps, which had 1 strength point, and no place to run.
India/Burma: Japanese tried hard to take Gauhati, they even used their medium bomber without fighter escort to eliminate defending British corps, but just haven’t got enough juice. They also sent Burma corps across shore to Calcutta, only to be met by US tank and Australian corps. We will see how it will develop, but I reckon the situation will stabilize there. I will send medium bomber next turn there. Strategic Bomber again bombed cities on Japanese rear, as well as oil rig. Other theaters: US Cavalry took Ambon in the Moluccas. Pure distraction action.
Remarks: Soon all six marine divisions will be ready to action. Problem is they all have low morale, like 17%! That’s the consequence of me keeping them to long on Guadalcanal. Stupido! Anyway, I want hese 3 Islands: Truk, Penape, Eniwetok. I know it is going too slow, but I guess I need to delay a bit. I basically filled the chart with research for USA, don’t need anything more, maybe logistics, thats’s it. Now is time to buy troops, plenty of them.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 87 April 25 1944
US&Pacific: By accident I spot Japanese SF in transport, by my sub, but I couldn't attack. I sent another sub to lay ambush around. Other subs are also coming into the area. All six marines divisions are now upgraded. They will be accompanied by corps and tanks unit. 8 units together will load next turn. Tartget: Truk, Penape, Eniwetok. Fleet is also ready. It’s about time.
China: All quiet.
India/Burma: Japanese veteran armies put all their effort in attack on Gauhati, and they have taken the city, wiping out British Army unit. Those veterans are real pain in the back, but at least now, those Jap successes comes with price! 2 points here ,one point there. He also damaged by US and British tanks. But I got additional British troops. He will finally run out of his juice, and lose those veteran stars. British needed to withdraw a little. Other theaters: Australia sent an army to India. Australia also researched mobility.
Remarks: Time -3 turns for Marines to reach starting point for attack. I hope to lure Japanese into a sea battle.
Science and Diplomacy: None.

US&Pacific: US subs were attacked by two, fully upgraded Japanese destroyers, but didn’t do much. I found that now, US subs are actually pretty good at convoy raids and they took 32 MPPs on one route alone last turn. I put now three of my subs on different routes. I wonder the result. Six Marines divisions and Infantry Corps boarded LCI’s. Their next destination, Guadalcanal bay. USA bought tactical bomber, a core and a garrison. Heavy Tanks unit sailed to Australia.
China: Quiet.
India/Burma: Heavy rain and mud slowed down Japanese pursuit after the British. While I used my Medium Bomber to support tactical counterattack, American fighter pilots spotted strange objects in the sky. Japanese had jets! Its alright, because, I am really not that back in the research. And there is one thing uncle Sam knows: the hell with tech, if you got no logistics. I bombed with my strat bomber Mandalay and Pyinmana, where Jap HQ is supplying those fighters. I reinforced the losses, and deployed new units. Can Japan break it through now? Other theaters: Quiet.
Remarks: Where is his fleet?
Science and Diplomacy: None.

Turn 91, June 4 1944
US&Pacific: The landing operations is t-1. Fleet and amphibious transports are in starting points. Aircraft carriers are ready, I hope I will be able to drag Petisch into sea battle. He might be fond of that, concerning he has tech 5 adv fighters, possibly on his Carriers too now. If not I will make second wave, US ARMY, not Marines try to take Port Moresby and Rabaul, in order to hit his morale. USA bought a fighter and a paratroop unit. China: Quiet.
India/Burma: The main war theater at least for now: Japanese reinforced, and attack US corps. Weather is awful, mud and rain. I used the occasion and made three tactical counterattacks, on 2 of his armies and this Burma corps near Calcutta. I also bombed Japanese rear with strategic bomber. I deployed additional USAF fighter to counter Japanese fighters. I want to drag him in war of attrition in here. Partisans attacked form Karen Hills, so I bet the supply of his fighters is low. They bad thing is Japs sunk Queen Elizabeth Battleship near Rangoon. I fired at the port, and in Japanese turn swarms of Jap naval bombers attacked and destroyed the British vessel. British bought an Army. Other theaters: Australians started to upgrade their troops with mobility.
Remarks: I spotted two Naval Bombers in Thailand and two naval bombers in Philippines (they almost killed my sub!). My other subs are circling around Chinese Sea, to sow distraction. I also sent my airship to join US Cavalry on their recon mission. I want a peak on Philippines. I saw a battleship there, thanks to intelligence report. I want to see more.
Science and Diplomacy: USSR invested in logistics 2.

Turn 93, June 24 1944
US&Pacific: Here we go! I had great mood when I started this operation, but it turned out I didn’t take any of the three Islands I wanted in one take. However, even from this brain fart, an opportunity was born. Or I would rather say: it actually went as planned: two marines divisions are stuck in their amphibious transports just next to Truk. He can see it. Aren’t they a ripe fruit just ready to be picked? Hah! That is the temptation I wanted Petisch to feel. All three Islands will fall next turn if he does nothing. I bombed the settlements and blocked the supply from ports by leaving my ships on adjacent hexes. My recon mission with airship provided me with data, which confirmed my suspicions: IJN is just out of Philippines. I’ve done my math before, he can’t actually reach any of those poor marines from there, unless he has some other units, for example in Ufu Island. But! Will Petisch take the bait, and engage? Will he leave the cover of Philippines, and its fighters etc? My carriers are waiting... USA bought two corps. China: I am making small effort to recon how many Jap units are left in the region.
India/Burma: God damn 日鬼!Japanese attacked and destroyed British Army, Commando and Paratroopers. That hurt a lot. Britain immediately re-bought Commando unit. I retreated a bit. Put my artillery back. Let him come. I can sacrifice Australian SF in Camilla. I also bombed with strategic bomber Gujarati and Chittagong. I deployed US tactical bomber to help, and reinforced two of my fighters. I am interested how Petisch is going to proceed on this. Other theaters: Two US submarines are roaming around China Sea, making distraction and convoy raiding. Poor UK submarine with 1 point left is trying to run away to Australia through Java sea.
Remarks: I am awaiting the climax of this game.
Science and Diplomacy: Nope.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 95 July 14 1944
US&Pacific: First things first: He didn’t take the bait! I wondered if he move his fleet from Philippines, but couldn't scout, my airship from Moluccas was shot down before it could go back with intel. However Intelligence report showed a battleship and a Light Cruiser closer to Japan, so I think he might withdrew there, waters a bit south-east to Japan Isles. In his turn unfortunately he sunk one US sub, using Maritime bombers from Phnom Penh and Davao. My other sub withdraw north, and this 1 point left UK sub managed to reach north coast of Australia. As planned I took Eniwetok, Penape and Truk this turn. I didn’t unload troops that used their amphibious attack, they are going back all the way to Australia (unfortunately, even when I got US HQ in Guadalcanal it provides only 7 supply on airfield hex and 6 on other hexes). My next target is Rabaul. I fired with my battleships for the port, town and airfield. Troops will reload, and attack. I will bring Medium Bomber from USA to reduce entrenchment of the city. I will bring back 3 marines divisions that was left on the islands after this successful operation. There are garrisons from Samoa to replace them and I want to put my maritime bomber on Truk. I also want to bring back lucky 1st Marines division from Guam, and replace it with AA unit. I moved my Maritime bomber on Guam, and it provides invaluable intel by just being there, and scouting 5 hex radius. I bought fighter and a tank. China: Japanese switched the blocking forces, now it is a core instead of an army. I will wait two turns, till this Army will be far away, and i will surround the town with Chinese light tank, and corps from the south. Plus army from front and artillery will come.
India/Burma: British counterattacked in the north sector, after USAF medium and tactical bomber strike. It also took artillery salvo to break the morale of 11 strength strong Japanese Army getting ready to storm the British. Also British tank attacked, and this army was depleted to 5 points. The most important thing it will loose its experience a bit after replacements. There were heavy air battles with the Japanese over air superiority over Burma. Last turn my strat bomber got some losses(till 6 points), so this turn i needed to reinforce it. Instead, those Chinese-American Bombers tried to do the job, and failed, couldn’t even decrease Gauhati supply by 1. I deployed another US Medium Bomber in India. Also US tanks attacked on Japanese tanks and devastated it. Remaining one point Japanese Light tank unit was finished off by Australian Core. Other theaters: US Cavalry unit boarded into Amphibious transport, I will try to take some another settlement.
Remarks: Time is flying and jap fleet is still dangerous. I need to find different way to lure them into battle. I want to take Rabaul to deplete jap morale a bit. But I can’t forgot the main focus: Manila. But I think i will need to take Saipan first. It also would be a bit easier, because now I have hidden approach to those Islands after I’ve taken Truk, Eniwetok and Penape. Don’t forget i got my troops and planes on Guam.
Science and Diplomacy: None. Soviets save for C&C level 2.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 97, August 3 1944
US&Pacific: Marines and US NAVY still regrouping, reloading. It takes ages. US got Long range aircraft 4 so I will also need to upgrade my carriers. I release 1st Marines from Guam and replaced it with AA unit. US submarine escaped Jap destroyers and is now close to Vladivostok. USA bought Maritime Bombers, and re-bought tank lost in India.
China: Chinese surrounded and attacked Japanese core, Light tanks got one hex tu Lanzhou.
India/Burma: Japs destroyed US Tank and were really trying to destroy British one. They used lots of air force, there were some fierce battle with USAF fighters. In my turn I depleted till 5 points another approaching Japanese Army. Both Strat Bombers bombed Gauhati, this time effectively, they flatted it to 1 supply. British reinforced the tank and deployed an Army. Other theaters: US cavalry division was destroyed while in amphibious port, north to Java. Well, pity. But it confirmed two Jap Naval Bombers near Davao. Intelligence also showed fortification there and Japanese Army. My sub was also attacked by Jap carrier, near Fuzhou. I think he really withdraw the fleet deeper. Also I spotted SF north to Manila in port.
Remarks: I need to do some progress! Fast!
Science and Diplomacy: Australia invested in AA weapons 2.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 99, August 23 1944
US&Pacific: Intelligence showed Japanese HQ in Cebu. And a heavy cruiser near to Philippines. Some Marines got to Australia, to rest and replenish supply. Three marines unit and one mechanized unit loaded into LCV and LCI to attack Rabaul next turn. The port, the city and the airfield are all bombed flat, to 0! Medium bomber also bombed Japanese SF in Rabaul. Next turn I will take it. Additional troops were deployed into USA, and they will go to Hawaii, and from there they will take NM points on Gilbert Islands. I will send them one marines to assist. Goal is to hit Japanese morale, by taking those points. Next big goal is Saipan. I really could use better Amphibious Warfare tech, but it is not progressing recently at all(although two chits in..). I will try to lure IJN into battle there. Aircraft Carriers moved to ports to upgrade to Long Range aircraft 4. For remaining points USA bought Strategic Bomber.
China: Chinese forces are trying to take the town of Xinning. Japanese core is surrounded there. Chinese don’t have much force, but If there won’t be any help for Japanese corps there, soon it will be finished. China bought an Army. India/Burma: Bad weather prevented Japanese from any big movements, although I spotted artillery near Camilla. Most probably he will try to storm it next turn. I bombed with my medium bombers two armies next to the town, and successfully reduced their morale, also I bombed Chittagong to reduce supply. In northern sector the British took the initiative, and with strong artillery barrage, tactical bomber strike and Tanks, destroyed Japanese Army unit! Gauhati was also bombed flat again. UK bought paratroopers. Additional AA unit from Australia came near Calcutta. Other theaters: I forgot to move my sub near Vladivostok...just realized.
Remarks: US developed Advanced tanks 3. Next big operation will be taking Saipan and Tinian in order to secure dropping A-bomb when the time comes.

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 101 September 12 1944
US&Pacific: Intelligence reported about Escort Carrier in Philippines, Appahari. As planned, Rabaul was taken by the US marines, one Jap SF destroyed. Another Japanese SF unit remains at the airfield, but with no supply it will „die like the rest”. US bought tactical bombers. All US NAVY carriers upgraded to long range 4. Troops from US (corps and mechanized) with marines who took Eniwetok will meet at Gilbert Islands to wipe out Japanese garrisons, in following turns. Other troops after taking Rabaul need to regroup in Australia and prepare for Marianas Islands operation.
China: Small Chinese forces continue their operations near Xinning, approached Ningxia, but only got limited success. I needed to withdraw one corps, because i left the trigger zone for income from Qinghai. India/Burma: Japanese managed to destroy Australian SF in Camilla, but didn’t have enough points to actually take ruined city. Another reinforced till 12(sic!) Japanese Army approached British sector in the North and was damaged by Tanks and Armies, and USAF till 6 points. Strategic bombers bombed Piyanma, Chittagong (town and port) and Guahati. Australia immediately re-bought SF, and British upgraded fighters. Other theaters: I moved this forgotten US sub away from Vladivostok, it heads Wake Island now. One British sub is repaired in Perth, I can’t forgot about them.
Remarks: Royal Navy is becoming a more powerful resource now with two carriers, two cruisers (heavy and light), 2 destroyers and two battleships. Question is how to use them? Schedule for victory is tight, but still executable. I just need to lure his fleet into combat!
Science and Diplomacy: I need to invest additional chit for US advanced tanks!

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 103 October 2 1944
US&Pacific: New Britain was taken, one Jap SF destroyed. Intelligence spotted HQ in Legashi and Engineers near Mindanao, their building fortress. Additional troops were deployed in USA. One marines, together with one corps and mechanized will invade Gilbert Islands, to reduce Japanese morale. I will scout with carrier first. Marines are regrouping in Australia.
China: Chinese need to abandon their dreams about taking Xining back, because two Jap armies coming from Lanzhou were spotted. In any case this operation was a success, because they dragged considerable amount of enemy forces to a third-importance theatre. India/Burma: Japanese destroyed British tanks in the northern sector. It was re-bought immediately. I needed to limit my air activity, there was need to reinforce fatigued USAF planes. British and Australians regroup, and are awaiting Japanese to enter swampy Ganges valley. Another distraction plan was born in my head, I could take either Rangoon or Bangkok. I would use commando and British paratroopers, supported by strategic bombers from Port Blair.
Other theaters: None. Remember about subs in Wake and Perth.
Remarks: I looked closely on the map of Saipan. San Jose settlement looks good for attack from the sea, it is easy approachable, with 3 hexes from which can attack. There will be terrible losses. For this I will need waves of US corps, cheap, that will provide attack from the amphibious transport, and weaken defenders, so Marines could go and take the positions. It will be bloody, but to conduct this operation two matters convince me: 1.I need spot to drop A-Bomb soon. 2. It is a good occasion to drag IJN into battle, they won’t have cover of their fighters that deep. So if he moves to attack the amphibious forces crowding around Saipan, well, he will need to get close enough to get hit by all my Naval might. If he won’t, well good for me, I will take the Islands quickly. If he will engage, there will be bloody battle, which I hope to win due to my numeric superiority and firepower (my fully upgraded battleships, cruisers and carriers) maritime bombers on Guam and Truk for recon, subs for recon and causing fear.
Science and Diplomacy: Us added chit to Advanced tanks. USA finally go advanced fighters!

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 105, October 22 1944
US&Pacific: I scouted Tarawa on Gilbert islands with my Carrier. Only garrison there, It should be easy to take in one approach. Marines left New Britain to regroup in Australia. My subs are recovered, now two subs are south to Penape and one UK sub in Guam. Another UK sub I moved from Perth to north Australia. US Sub from Wake move to Hawaii for repairs. Additional troops were deployed in USA. I need to organize landing on Saipan faster, time is passing, but for now condition sine qua non is to upgrade Carriers for Advanced fighters 5. I bought corps for USA. I will buy one corps every turn, because I really expect horrible losses. For Saipan, San Jose settlement I need at least 6 units alone in the first wave.
China: Japanese cut off and destroyed Chinese light tanks. I pressed on Xinning, remaining Jap corps has only 4 points. Chinese Army was deployed all way back in Urumqi.
India/Burma: Japanese advanced into sticky-sticky terrain. One of their armies was destroyed by the British in the northern sector. Swapping two artillery units around Patna must be super annoying for Petisch. I observed decreasing morale and experience in the northern sector among the Japanese. War of attrition started to give fruits. I possibly could have done more, but I realized my fighters with tech 4 suffered heavy losses escorting my bombers. One of my fighters lost 5 points in single escort mission. I stopped my air attacks and started upgrading other fighters. British bought commandos.
Other theaters: US Paratroopers moved to former US Cavalry base and airship base, in Moluccas. I will try to para-drop them in some nearby port, just to cause distraction I don’t have better place for them anyway.
Remarks: I could really, really use upgrade in amphibious warfare. Now I regret I didn’t keep it double chitted all the time. There was always one chit at least, but now I feel how desperately I need this tech.
Science and Diplomacy: USSR invested second chit in advanced tanks.

US&Pacific: US NAVY battleships bombed Tarawa, next turn it will be attacked by marines and corps. All troops reached Australia, next turn we will start logistic operation to load them. Concentration point is next to Truk at 100,70. From there LCI can reach San Jose and have enough points to attack and withdraw one hex, let another LCI attack. Maybe I will delay a bit, to gather more troops. I want to do the dirty work with corps, because they are expandable, marines are those who can survive on Island without supply. I have two more corps just deployed in US. My attack should be overwhelming, excluding any chance of Japanese counterattack. I made one recon flight with my maritime bomber from Truk, to scout Palau, and was intercepted by Jap fighters(north hex to Mindanao), barely come back alive. Babezthaup has one SF and garrison near, on the strait between both islands. All carriers were upgraded. USA bought three infantry corps.
China: Chinese withdrew, but remained on the outskirts of Xining, bombed it with artillery. Two Jap armies were spotted in it and one hex east to it. It’s good, because they have poor supply, and they are wasting their potential here on third-tier battle.
India/Burma: Japanese destroyed British 10th Army, and advanced. Allies replied with strong artillery and air bombardment, and counterattacks, damaging plenty of Jap units and destroying on army. Still they are facing 10 Jap Armies over there. Big losses in fight over air superiority with Jap jest fighters. UK re-bought the Army. Australia bought corps, it will land somewhere in Moluccas as a distraction. Other theaters: US Paratroops loaded into para drop mode.
Remarks: I know I should proceed faster, but i don’t want to lose my marines while they will be crowding in LCI’s outside Saipan after the attack. This damn Island is so small that it won’t even have enough place to deploy them. That’s why I want to use mainly infantry corps.
Science and Diplomacy: USA FINALLY GOT AMPHIBIOUS WARFARE 4!

Re: Day of Infamy AAR Allies, full turn-by-turn
Turn 109 December 1, 1944
US&Pacific: Tarawa taken. In two turns I will try with another Island. US NAVY concentrated around Penape port, which is now upgraded to 4th level Naval construction and main supply base in the area. Upcoming invasion of Saipan must secure airfield for A-Bomb and lure IJN into great battle. I will join US and Royal Navy to achieve overwhelming numerical advantage. China: Hold on outskirts of Xinning, firing with artillery and bombing with tactical bomber to Japanese Army in the town.
India/Burma: I reinforced all air units, and upgraded last USAF fighter. UK reinforced its armies. Artillery fired on Jap Army with highest morale=highest threat that was in the range, took 2 points. He will most probably attack in his turn and wipe out US corps and British Army, but I will bomb mercilessly any unit reduced by the attacks and try to eliminate it. I am also counting on my fighters to finally win over the skies.
Other theaters: US paratroopers successfully took Marakass.
Remarks: Schedule for Saipan invasion:
Turn -3 One US Corps in transport south to Wake will unload in Eniwetok. Two US Corps from Australia will transport to Truk. Five Marines divisions from North of Australia will load into LCI’s. I will add mechanized unit as reserve - in LCI’s.
Royal Navy will start move from Indian Sea-hidden move to Australia shores. British Paratroopers transport to Port Blair. Commandos in Madras load into LCI.
Turn -2 Three US Corps will load into LCI’s. Five Marines LCI’s will reach north to New Britain Area.
Royal Navy will reach north Australia. British Paratroopers go into paradrop mode. Commandos go to Indian Sea.
Turn -1 US Corps’ and Marines’ LCi’s will gather around point 100,70. US NAVY will form hedgehog around it. I will remove maritime bomber from Guam for Medium Bombers.
Royal Navy will approach to US NAVY. Commandos got to port Blair, don’t leave LCI’s. One British Carrier and two destroyers(those are left) hide behind Port Blair.
Turn 0 Escort carrier make recon over San Jose. If no AA, Medium Bombers from Guam Bomb San Jose. If AA, some other planes will take the hit, then bomb.
Three Army cores attack from the sea. Fourth attack should be final, Marines land ashore. If not, another Marines join, till success. If possible we attack and destroy AA unit-most probably it is AA, north to San Jose. Plan minimum-take San Jose. Plan max: take also hex north to it. US NAVY keeps distance, but close enough to react if Petisch use IJN to destroy the LCI’s.
Royal Navy scout Rangoon and Bangkok. Commandos and Paratroopers land where they can make some damage and distraction.
Meanwhile additional troops from USA will gather at New Britain as it should recover its supply by this time, and prepare to take Peleliu.
Science and Diplomacy: None.
