US Navy, Chief Electronics Technician (retired), 1978-1998. Served in many commands in Norfolk, VA and San Diego CA, plus a year deployed out of Guam too. Saw lots of the Pacific region including OZ, my favorite port visits were Perth and Sydney in my 20 years.

USAF '78 - '95 retired at 17 years. Tactical Space Communications Supervisor. Kid mentioned it earlier, but it is weird watching shows on History channel, Discovery, etc. about systems I was debriefed on... Got a laugh teaching ASCII code when I mentioned to the younger generation in my class about something called a "teletype". Great times, great people, wouldn't trade it for the world. [:)]

US Navy Nuclear Electrician 1987-1993. After training served my entire stint on the USS Enterprise CVN-65. Kinda wish I could go back in, but my health won't allow it.

Went into the Navy BECAUSE of my love for the Pacific Theatre. Guess what my favorite carrier is? :)

My military duty lasted exactly 30 seconds: the time to ask the clerk at the Dutch consulate in Paris if I would ever be called up and for her to reply that as long as I lived abroad it wouldn't happen.

Australian Regular Army 85-88. Spent my time in an ARW (Ammunition Repair Workshop).

(just picture the Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs is ever so gently tapping on artillery fuses checking for duds....)
