I have had a few issues with some of the saves sent my way. I would advise that you keep a copy of your current 1.21 installation when you patch just in case that you can't go forward with the patch.

Ugh! Thanks for the quick reply, no thanks for the news. Sigh.

Thanks for the info on the patch.

And thanks for a great game. I, too, have been waiting for this game for about 20 years.

Sorry Hithere, It is a reference to his Japanese Commanders on US subs. Benedict Arnold was commander of West Point and it was his plan to lower the chain that blocked the S turn on the river that West Point Guarded that gave him his infamy.

So lowering the chain allowed the Japanese to hop over the chain and take command of the US subs in the river? Or am I still missing the point here?

I think you are still missing it.

He has Japanese Commanders commanding US subs. Like the Famous United States Traitor Benedict Arnold. Arnold was a General for the Continental Army that felt that they were going to lose. He worked out a deal with the British, since Arnold was commander of the fort at West Point NY, to lower the large chain across the river, preventing the British from moving ships and troops down river.

I am trying to draw a parallel between Benedict Arnold and the Japanese that have taken over US subs. They know they are going to lose and have changed sides.

Oh, you Americans don't get it. Benedict Arnold wasn't an American traitor. He was the British hero! :)

Well, just kidding. Looks like the British didn't like him very much. From what I read, he was ostracized in Britain.

We originally planed on two more patches. The 1.3 patch was for bugs and the follow on patch was going to be for bugs and improvement. However, Matrix and 2by3 were getting some bad press for supposedly not responding to player comments. Most of these comments were in the improvement category. So, we had to put the breaks on fixing bugs and made some playability changes like the new bombardment function, PT boat adjustments, Allied ASW adjustment and on and on. This caused a big delay because these had to be tested. Once we got this done, we went back to fixing the bugs the testers wanted fixed in this patch. We are very close but until I get confirmation that the recent changes have not caused any addition problems, I cannot recommend releasing the patch. If Mr. Frag did not have to spend so much time on this thread, maybe we could move along.[;)]

The next patch will focus on bugs, filters and hot keys.

and I said "Litterin'" .......
Glad to see you're up and running after three strikes in a row. We did try to steer that last one toward the polar ice cap, but it wouldn't listen soon enough.

Any one giving you guys bad press needs to back up and take a long look at the excellent work that has been done. Some of us are old enough to remember when this was just a glimmer of a hint of a wild dream in the eyes of us who used to want to conjure up a way to put a game like this on the company main frame. Now it comes in a bright shiney disc and is more fun than virtually anything else you can do in an upright position.

God Bless, and keep on truckin'

"Bad Press?" - "not responding to player comments" - good God, which "press?" I'll be glad to write somebody a sh*tty-gram. Matrix is the BEST company in this niche market for responding to player comments. It's amazing that there are so many uninformed "journalists" out there, spewing forth unfounded crap....

I must confess my dissapointment, had I realized that WitP was this "buggy" I would never have started the grand campaign (in truthfulness, I wouldn't have bought the game until at least the 1.3 patch was out. The reason being I am the kind of guy that tries to tackle the big enchilada before the side dishes). I was under the impression that the 1.2 restart would be the only restart we would really need.

However, I am greatly impressed with the effort that all these guys are putting forward for this game. Admittedly, some stuff that has happened with this game might have killed other games, but I think it stands for itself that WitP has shrugged off these annoyances, and is even improving. This game, thanks to the devs, the testers, and even the community, is truly the finest game I have ever purchased.

Please, devs and testers, do not take my comment in the first paragraph out of context. I am saying that, had WiTP been any other game, I would not have bought it on day 1. However, considering the support, and how good the base game is, that despite any and all problems I would have bought it again. Making this massive mod should in itself be a testament to that.

Matrix, if anybody truly is giving you bad press, they are nothing more than die hard liberal Dan Rather wannabes. Stupid Rathergate loosers.

By the way, @ Matrix: David Heath, where are you? You haven't returned my emails in almost a week.
