Sir! I was AWOL sir. I'm sorry I didn't report earlier. The sound problem can be fixed by using the Sound Blaster X-Fi card. I have yet another problem with the 2 secenario. When I try to loadup the 1st Formosa, the task force says this: Capacity 0 and nothing is showed in the unit loaded, it was blank. Then, when I dismiss the empty taskforce, the transports say 0 instead of saying none. Please help! I have a new system, but this problem was going on in my previous system. Go Figure?[8|][8|][8|]

Please don't post general problems in this thread... please open a new thread for this problem.

EDIT: i probably shouldn't have addressed some of the other issues here[:-] [:o], but they were "easy" ones...

RE-EDIT: Problem transferred to non-stickied thread in main support section (see below).

There's no Trojan in that file, it's a false positive.

I have the updated/patched version and am playing by email. I am using Windows XP. The Combat Results category posts only Dec. 7th, and not the updated results. Is there a fix?

My friend and I are PBEM and cannot get a combat summary to show. We get something completely unrelated to the time frame we are in. He does send (he is the Japanese) 001 file, and has each time. Thoughts?

I don't understand a peculiarity of the game and would like some direction: for the Chinese there is some difficulty getting replacements to front line units which have taken losses. If there are several in a hex one can access the unit board which lists all the units. At the bottom there are two tabs, one for replacements, and one for not taking replacements. Clicking the former allegedly allows all units in the hex to take replacements, and on looking at the specific unit, at the bottom left corner, the "allow replacements" tab is visible. However, if one has a single unit, it does not seem to take replacements if the "allow replacements" tab is visible, and instead one must click the tab so that "no replacements" tab shows. The confusion is allowing my Chinese units to remain very understrength. What is correct? If the tab is showing, is that the action accepted (which is the obverse of the "divide unit" and "rebuild unit", which need to be clicked to allow the action to occur)?

I have Windows XP Pro on my desktop, I just got this game and installed. Now I get this; instruction at "0x13b57804" referenced memory at "0x00000004", memory could not be found. Hen i am trying to play the Tutorial. I have not tried any other scenario's yet. Do I just need to update or? I thought I had the latest version.

Hi and welcome to WitP.

It's probably better to open a new thread if you need help. Posting here isn't so visible.

If you bought the game just now you might have the latest version available but I always thought that you needed to
both add the 1.804 patch (which goes on top of any earlier version and contains everything upto then) and finally add the 1.806 pacth.

Which version are you running?

Ok BPRE, maybe you or somebody out there can help me. My newest problem is that when I try to install the updates/ patches the program tells me my serial number is "invalid".

Have you tried a fresh install?
Todd

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

Well, it requires the same serial number as you used for the initial install when you install the patches.
It's a long number so it's easy to make a mistake.

The patches are common for us all so it's just checking that you specify the same serial number as during the install.
If you installed it in the default location you will find a file called serialreg.txt in C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific.

In that file you'll find the number you used for the initial install. You need to load patch 1.804 and after that 1.806 for a complete install of the latest version. All the other ones are covered by 1.804.
