Don I am running an AI vs AI with the new CHS u just put out with 1.5 and the Japanese AI is doing well...

The AI has captured many of the bases it did not in your scenario and is attacking Kutching and Rabaul but failed to take Wake. it is only Dec 16...

The allies have only lost 2 subs and pearl is still well supplied....

Just to alleviate some of your worries:

This is good news! But also a little confusing. I have run CHS overnight three times (usually going into May, 1942) and I have not yet seen the Naga and Davao attacks take place.

Could you please let me know your switch settings??

I am now officially confused! I'm beginning to wonder if this is some sort of operating system difference. I think I'll clean up, reboot, and see what happens. I also have an old Windows 98 system that runs WITP at the speed of dark but might set up some tests over there too.

I hope the CHS gurus do not give up on us who are limited to playing against AI..
If a newer version of CHS is released (for 1.5,)please let us know the preferred "settings" for AI..Thank you..

I would not be worried. The AI seems to be doing well. I will keep posting updates...

Im actually starting to be impressed by the Japanese AI... [:D]

Never ran one of these AI vs AI games before...

AI seems to be pretty static in China though....

Still marching to Rangoon.

4 allied subs sunk.

I've competed a test run on my old Windows 98 machine with disturbing results. AI works fine on Windows 98, just lies there on my XP-SP2 machine. Next step might be a full re-install of WITP on XP. Something is defintely wrong on the XP version.

What operating system are you running?

* Cue music from Twilight Zone *

As mentioned in PM to Don, I am also using WinXP (Home version) with SP2 and in the one small AI test I ran I also saw a very slow expansion. Very strange.

Maybe we have to bundle Win98 with CHS [:)]
Information about my WitP map, and CHS, can be found on my WitP website

My head is spinning with trying to figure out how the AI knows what operating system it is running on !?!?

Visions of code fragments like:

if ( os == W98 )

ai_on = true

else

ai_on = false

doesn't make sense ...

Tanaka, are you running your AI vs AI test at Historic difficulty? I, like Oleg, believe that these tests ahould be run that way, so neither side use "loaded dice".
