RE: The Cautionaries: 7/07/22
Several slow days ... mostly sub/asw activity, you'll see some in the report below ... from a high level the Japanese are building up in Luzon to inaugurate true seige of Bataan. We will start by adding 4 fresh artillery regiments - hopefully this will enable us to gain artillery superiority - if not we'll need more artillery. Also 2 more DIvisions will be joining shortly and3 combat engineer regiments.

RE: The Cautionaries: 7/11/22
Things are still slow ... USN hasn't shown up in Marshalls yet .. we are rushing to increase minefields in the area, will report on exact status in a turn or so.
Main "action" is around Luzon. The sub/ASW battles continue, especially in Lingayen and some of our new artillery units are arriving in the Bataan hex. But looks like we will need more. It will take another couple of weeks to build up the PP, then load and transport more artillery units. Looks like it will take every artillery unit in the IJA jsut to gain parity in the Bataan hex - but so be it.

Ha ha ha ... our ODD didn't acccomplish much in their night raid against the Bataan hex !!! I knew I beefed up the Manilla coastal artillery for this scenario .. so I guess I can consider this a successful test !!! ( though we won't be repeating this test in this particular game !!! ) [;)]

A look at the Marshalls area - likely to be the next "hot spot" ( though we still have a long way to go to finish the P.I. ).

RE: The Cautionaries: 7/22/22
Here is a view of the P.I. we are still not winning the artillery battle - hence we are in the process of sending all 8 independent Arty units in the OB to the PI .. 4 are there 2 enroute and 2 more awaiting PP. It will be about 6 weeks before all are in the Bataan hex. Hopefully that will be enough to at least break even !
Four combat engineer regiments are also on Luzon, once they are in Bataan ( a few days ) we will try our first assault - we aren't expecting much - but it will give us an idea how many more troops we will need.

RE: The Cautionaries: 7/31/22
We've had a very slow week in the game ... so I will present some summaries ...
The main areas of activity for the Japanese are as before, Bataan and the Marshalls ... here is a view of Bataan ... we are back to 1600 AV after our attack a week back ... we are in a situation where we will have to blockade Bataan anbd run him out of supply - so we will have to attack .. rest ... attack ...rest ... etc. But first, we had to get Artillery Superiority so that resting recovered us fast enough to do some good. SO we're almost there ... one more artillery unit just landed at Lingayen and will join in about 3-4 days ... thus we will do another attack in a day or so ...

RE: The Cautionaries: 8/10/22
And here is a view of the Marshalls ... the tempurature is going up fast here ... looks like he sent in his MSWs a couple of days ahead of the main fleet to clear the area ... we will react with our CL/DD force, but not sure it will be enough to disrupt the MSW group ... our Heavy ships are approaching Saipan, from the West but it will be a week before they can be in the Marshalls area ... the invasion will be in by then and for sure covered by the US heavy ships. We do not intend to engage with our dreadnoughts, unless we see an opportunity ( which includes knowing that the USN cannot engage us with superior force ). The Marshalls are a write off ... as is really everything SE of the PI and Home Islands ... but we have to conqueror the P.I. before the Americans can get back !
