Is that the 'big' campaign???ORIGINAL: ravinhood
Lol yeah they could title that game "The Three Day War" haha

That would be a very boring war.......the EU vs the US. I gues the US could mobilize a few national Guard units to defeat France. But I can not think of any reason to keep France after we conquer it.
Don't know what you mean by 'only working with H3'. AFAIK, Matrix is supposed to be publishing both H3 - Advanced Naval Warfare and Harpoon Classic Commanders Edition.ORIGINAL: vertical
And as I understand Matrix will only be working with H3, so is Harpoon Classic going to be worked on any further? I'm just starting to play the Harpoon demos, and it seems to me like H3 is more of a simulation where you command a TF or three and Harpoon Classic is more of a theater level war game. Am I correct?

US would have to defeat 300,000 finns with leopard 2s, mobile artillery, elite paratroops, modern AA systems and fifty F18s. Only after that they could move on to other countries. Poland for instance has several armor and mech divisions with very modern equipment.
Allthough I dont think it would be fair that US could disable our F18s by shutting down their navigation systems (iirc).
Best tactic to defeat the finns might be a quick conquest of estonia. Their army is small and not all that modern. Once estonia is lost finns liqueur supply would run dry and theyd be forced to surrender.
Those same AARs have caused others to start flame wars. Go figure. [&:] I'm very glad that they managed to pique your interest. [:D]ORIGINAL: vertical
Thanks, they really should make you a spokesman Herman; your AARs got me interested and here you are in a different forum answering my questions [:)]. I think I'm leaning towards H3, seems to be more of a simulator as someone else commented.
I wasn't aware that Matrix was going to publishing both H3 and Harpoon Classic versions. For those that purchase Harpoon from AGSI will they be able to update their games to the ANW version? I want to get it soon, but if Matrix is coming out with a new version that has to be bought seperately I'll just wait.

Others have thought the same. Take a look here.
My hunch is that you are not going to lose out by buying H3 and then buying the upgrade to ANW. It sounds like you are going to shell out the exact same amount as if you waited to buy only ANW.
Now, the difference is going to be the time that you are NOT playing while waiting for ANW! That could be weeks or months. Also, there are hundreds of H3 scenarios currently available to keep you entertained. They will likely be transformed / translated into ANW scenarios by their authors. However, this may or may not be an overnight process as designers might first want to test how their scenario plays with the new ANW features / bug corrections.
So, my advice is, if you are already set on purchasing the game, go ahead and do it. You're only denying yourself the enjoyment and it is very unlikely to cost you more to purchase the upgrade after. If the upgrade does cost you a bit more, I'd bet heavily that it wouldn't be more than the cost of lunch ($5). It's really peanuts for the amount of enjoyment you can have between now and then.
