It's true that night movements save lives for the Germans but... Allied air interdiction can hit stationary units as well.  Every other turn the Allied bombers pound just about German unit on the map at least once.  Also the Germans can't make use of the automatic reserve system at all because once a unit tries to move in to plug a hole, it gets interdicted, heavily, and is then rendered far too weak to plug it.

There were some instances were you talked about German divisions being brought in by rail.  Even if the movement was at night, rail movement is a magnet for interdiction, and interdiction can happen at night.

Well, this is just from my experience playing as the Germans with the Allied AI, maybe the way you used your airforce allowed more mobility for the Germans?

Evidently this is truely the case. I needed to pay more attention to putting aircraft on Interdiction even at night than I did at the time.

Did you mainly put your tactical bombers on Combat Support missions?  Well, I can see why it would make sense to do that, but I have to side against it.

In the first few turns, the biggest issues for the Germans is to get the units to front and from a semi-solid line of defense.  The Allies are infinitely more mobile than the Germans.  Not only is every Allied unit motorized (save paras), they also have no interdiction issues.  The Germans, especially their more vulnerable units, get murdered by the interdictions.  Like I said, they get hit even when stationary, even at night!  Combat support is nice, but it becomes a moot point if the German units are so severely mauled from interdictions that they've lost the engagement even before it started.
