Hi redsolo,

Here are some tips:
ORIGINAL: redsolo

, but as I had a bridging eng unit, they were sent to the location and was ordered to build a bridge.

You can't just build a bridge somewhere on the map, only at the crossing point icons, the white circles with a black border, and a brigde sign if the bridge is there, or two triangles if the bridge is blown.
I had tons of fun, and gained loads of experience on what to do and not to do with the tanks. Tanks + water = BAD.

Use the right mouse button on the map to popup the terrain properties window to check the motorized and non-motorized movement factors. 0% is impassable. I think streams are a passable are not.
The only question I have now, is what to do with that first recce unit, as they always hassle my full assault force...

Order an attack by some units to push it off the road, the remaining units can pass by without hassle.

Note also that there is a bug that prevents motorized artillery to target enemy in terrain with no motorized movement allowance. So you can't suppress the ambush unit with artillery. This will be corected in the patch.

As said before, this is not an easy senario, but as you said it is a great senario to find out what works and what doesn't in dense terrain.

Have fun.

Ah, the fun part is that they had no problem accepting the order and move to the location. But I never actually saw any msg about starting to build the bridge, so perhaps they know they couldnt build it but didnt dare to question my orders. Perhaps this should be fixed, if there are only a certain places where the bridges can be built?

According to Annex F it is the easiest :) but still it is quite hard when you trying to grasp the game.

BTW, how dynamic are the scenarios? Is the enemy recce always placed at the same place, or do they have different spawn places, or area where they can spawn? How much replay value has a scenario at start?

Replayability varies with each scenario, depending on how many different reinforcement schedules the scenario designer created. In theory you can create a multitude of different reinforcement schedules and one is chosen randomly at startup. So you never know exactly what to expect with each iteration.

Hmmmmmm. It's the simplest, but I'm not sure about easiest. Attacking under tight time pressure in close, broken country with a pure motorised/mechanised force against a largely infantry enemy is not that easy a task!

I've been looking at getting this game and indeed are one of those 'sitting on the fence' BUT i can feel myself falling off soon.
