As I told Scott by e-mail:

"LOL - it seemed like a good idea @ the time... Air, sea, and land attack @ Bataan and air/sea attack @ Manila. I thought if I pounded Manila with a couple dayz worth of bombardment from air/sea I'd really lay waste to your supplies and put some more disruption on those troops - and then I'd run my troops in...

I wasn't expecting large holes in my CAs - I thought they'd stay out of range of the Coastal units... Things that make me go Hmmmm... <laughter>"

I'm still studying the game and trying out different things. I figured out a while back to not add my lite stuff to the Bombardment but this is the 1st time My CAs were hammered. I really thought they stood off with the BBs and pounded the enemy from afar. Now I'm beginning to think it's all about armour... [8|][8|][8|]

I don't know why you'd want to lodge a complaint - I experienced something like 400 casualties during the landing operations. I can only assume your coastal watchers either "surrendered" after running out of ammunition or that the Japanese Army doesn't teach it's troops how to swim - <grin>.

And the people of Moulmein sang and danced in the street. The feared British troops withdrew in the dead of night - sneaking and skulking away from the onslaught of the Imperial Japanese Army.

So sayeth the Imperial Japanese Ministry of Propaganda.

Scott,
Michael likes those repeat cruises back to Hawaii.
He did that with me a couple of time.
Just make sure your air defenses are built up. [:D]
