After these airstrikes RAF have withdrawn into Mandalay and India. Albeit costly I think we managed to damage his airforce a bit more again.

It seems that Russian airforce has grown in strenght. The 1:1 odds in terms of losses was a bit disappointing.

Game date is 24th of March 1943

Brief Summary of latest developments

- I did launch an another ground assault againts Vladivostok. Well, 0:1 odds and level 6 fortifications remained. It is hard to dislodge those 3000 AV Russians there despite daily bombings by our divebombers.

- Allied submarines have caused a lot of havoc around the map. Several Tankers and supply vessels have been hit and sunk. Needless to say my ASW efforts leave a lot to be desired for! I do find those submarines but I'am unable to hit them with my naval vessels.

- Allied LBA bombers are very active in Southern Pacific. Manokawari and Amboina do get daily visits from these monsters. Another bad news is that allied engineers are building up airfields quickly around this region thus meaning more bombers can be placed there.

I did engage some Corsairs above skies at Boela. The end result was little short of an disaster. I think the odds were something like 18:1 in allied favour. Thus meaning this operation was bluntly stopped... and those pilots of my were no rookies. Zero's just cannot engage these monsters.

I have started to build up first Jack fighters. I have no clue whether these can hold on their own againts these new allied fighters.

- I'am training my pilots around the map. I still do lack quantity in terms of experienced pilots.

- I'am bombing Chungking, Wuchow and Changhsa daily. These airfields are severely hit. The odd thing is that there seems to be little in terms of resistance here.

- I'am airlifting some of my infantry divisions out of the frontline action. These guys would be toasted if left there to rotten.

- My economy is not in good shape. The real bottle neck of the economy is lack of resource points. Allied have bombed several resource centers to dust. This is really hurting me.

- Oveall I'am just waiting the next hammer to fall. There seems to be couple of areas which are in real danger. However I'am trying my best to make things costly as possible. Allthough I'am not too confident that this will turn into my favour. Fingers crossed though.

Hmmm. At least we hit something despite some aircraft losses. Only 1 AK was confirmed sunk so the end result could have been better for sure. Those Corsairs are really annoying too as you can see.

The depressing thing is the allied LBA bombers. The following bases were hit hard this turn: Tarawa, Wau, Manokwari, Amboina and Babo. That is a long list of bases. [8|]

Also it seems that Chuck was able to land 20 000 men into Biak which means that this base will be beefed up quickly.

Relatively quiet and not much to report. Chuck is taking his time to advance. Allied airfields are quite strong at New Guinea region.

Hmmm. These bases were also out of supply due to allied "LBA blockade" here.

...and yes same as in Tarawa. I had some bombers on Navalstrike orders... no allied aircover available for these invasion TF's... what happens... well nothing.. bombers just did not want to do easy target practise raids! [:(][:@]

There is none of the above with allied LBA bombers. The smallest sign of Japanese ship will result to an co-ordinated naval assault by LBA bombers! [8|]

The headline speaks for itself. Last turn my recon planes spotted 20 enemy just 60 miles North of Tavoy. This is bad news indeed too. (see screenshot)

This time around Chuck did not guess where my CAP was at. These monsters did suffer big losses. Allthough total amount of losses in terms of 4E bombers is still too low.

The allied juggernaught continues towards Tavoy. I will propably abandon the base since it is not worth while to die for.

Hmmm. I was hoping for better odds. Chuck had pounded the base few turns and now I decieded to intercept those raiders. My pilots were +75 exp... taking that into account I would say 1:1 odds are somewhat disappointing.

Allied forces CAPTURE Rahaeng base !!!

This is another allied spearhead which showed up at Rahaeng.

The main juggernaught arrived at Tavoy last turn so an assault is expected immediately. Well, I had all my infantry units in marching orders OUT OF Tavoy towards Bangkok area... Well.. These units reset their advance so thus meaning these troops will be routed for NOTHING! [8|][:@] ...there are times when I really do hate this ground movement/combat system!

Japanese ground losses:
22 casualties reported

Ouch and GRRR! This really hurt and I was expecting much better odds in terms of losses. I know my pilots were NOT +80 exp. but these guys were +70 exp. This did hurt and showed that there really is nothing to STOP these 4E raids. I have inflicted some damage to Chuck but overall he is in very good shape.

We encountered another ZOC movement "bug" at Tavoy. My troops were +50 miles out of the hex but once allied troops entered the hex my troops did reset their movement to 0!!!

The good thing is that we discussed this and these troops will have safe passage into another hex.

A couple of my ambushes paid off. I know it really doesn't hurt the allied side much but small victories anyway.

Allied seem to be reorganizing all around this region. I have no doubt that there will be new offensives launched soon enough. Last turn allied 4E bombers started flying againts the Marshalls Island chain too.

New Guinea and Southern DEI still do recieve daily attention from these monsters.

Other NEWS

My economy is not in good shape at all. I'am producing fighters but not nearly enough at the moment. Also my pilot pools are not in good shape.

Japanese army is withdrawing from Tavoy. Units are 20 miles out of the base. (There is temporary ceasire in effect here due to the bugged land movement)

RE: Disasters all around the map

Post by aztez »

I have been very busy with work lately. So, has been Chuck. (As far as I know)

We are actually reaching the point when the final big battle will be fought! I can promise there will be one hell of an BOOM! as soon as opportunity rises... whether it results into victory or disaster only time will tell.

Unfortunately Chuck hasn't made any errors so far since he is actually very tough opponent. I have been waiting... waiting and I'am still waiting for one.

As for me as an Japanese player well rookie is always rookie. Some very bad errors early on and I have payed dearly for them. As for grade in 1-10 I would give Chuck 9 1/2 and for myself well.. maybe 5 1/2. At least there has not been many boring months. We have kept fighting on and will to the bitter end of the Nippon Empire. I would estimate that the allied will be granted decisive victory before 1944.

Basically out of curiosity is anyone still reading this stuff? [:)]

Duty calls... need to do some work and put the young ones into bed. I will post an update on the overall score next time around.
