I would agree with moore and your assessment here. Remember though, hitting them is almost as good as sinking them. They have a long travel back to port and to return. Get your Aviation ASW up and running coupled with your ASW TF's. You need both working together. Air Groups increase the sub DL's and then the TF's can hit them. You should be able to keep the HI relatively clear of subs once you get these up and running.

It's 21:00 on Sunday 10June2012 and I've just sent my moves to Jim. Rob is back in town but lost my moves somehow so I re-sent them to him. So I'm between games now again. I expect some moves from Rob sometime late tonight and from Jim sometime Monday.

Hey PaxMondo dude......I've got everything in the home islands flying ASW if they are capable of it and I figure my ASW ships are gaining experience faster than the subs are so over the long haul I figure I'll win the sub war until I get overwhelmed with Allied subs sometime in '43.

Actually, you should be able to win the sub war until the allies close in on the Home Islands and start sinking your ASW TF's.  The IJN never prosecuted subs the way a player does.  They could have, they should have, but they never did.  I've read a number of conflicting accounts on the why ... doubt we'll ever know the real reason(s).

Okay.......so I ran the turn and got some combat results and I'm going to skip over a lot of it but I'm attaching the combat report here below in case anybody wants to see the whole report for some reason.

At least I got him to submerge. I'd rather have gotten a hit or two first.

And I ran outta ammo ( winchester ) I hate it when that happens.

I got a hit on an AK near Pearl. Need more like that to win this war.

Sank an AK near Leyte. I'd rather it had been a capital ship.

Lost an AG in the middle of nowhere.

This has been largely a sub war so far.

Oh nooooooo. A sub in the middle of a major shipping lane. Maybe I can get him to move somewhere else.

I didn't know that the Allied side had subs that could lay mines. Learn something every day.

I had a TK in my sights and all four of my torps missed. D'oh.

The DMS ship was my recon for the hex and I might ought to have found out what was there before I stumble into the hex with my transports etc. I got sloppy and my boys paid the price.

The very next attack was a sweep by 9 Zero's. D'oh. I hate it when the bombers beat the fighters to the target.

This attack gutted the Tojo squadron and I had to stand them down. They need replacements badly now.

The air war continues north of Singapore. Little by little we wear them down.

A flight of Dutch bombers gets lucky and this coupled with the early am tangle with the two Allied DD's has rendered one of my LCU's combat ineffective.

The Allied CAP does it's job well and I didn't do any damage.
