Distant Worlds: Shadows

Distant Worlds is a vast, pausable real-time, 4X space strategy game which models a "living galaxy" with incredible options for replayability and customizability. Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time, and on the scale of a massively-multiplayer online game. Now greatly enhanced with the new Universe release, which includes all four previous releases as well as the new Universe expansion!

Hey Erik, if we do not get a nibble, I am going to hide all of my Romulan and Corellian Ale from a certain Android...[:D]

I hope they will also incorporate economy tweaks so its less hard to make insane amounts of money.

Yes, that's part of the balance we've been working on as well. Lots of economic and resource balancing so far during Shadows development.

Regards,

- Erik

Love all of the new additions but this has to be my favorite! No more insane piles of money! Money will have meaning! Economy slider please!!!

Oh and on the map settings please change it to distance from each other and not distance from you! [:(]

And as far as preventing bottleneck frustrations would not the best idea be to not allow us to build ships UNLESS we HAVE the resources to do so?

Diplomacy really needs some work as well AI's still repeat cancel repeat cancel repeat actions over and over. [&:]

Also is it possible when updating the game with patches to not have all your game settings and mods reset every time?

I have no sympathy for businesses who ignore their customers..Erik or whoever could toss us an update with a smartphone while eating lunch. The choice to leave us in the dark is deliberate.

I'm paying attention to Stardrive..which is going open beta any day now. DW with modern graphics and less micro. Hopeful it has an AI..I guess we'll see. Da123 has a new video series for DW up on youtube site. Shows off many of the community ui art mods.

Hey its ok, when they are ready we will get some juicy info.

Or if the waits that bad you could sign up for the beta. School is keeping me too busy, wish I could.

Give us some info or I will buy Legends of Pegaus and play it instead of DW!
I'll back you up.

I have my finger on Moo3.exe, I'll do it!

MOO3's not that bad when it's all patched up (user patches).

The MOO3 Forums are how I found out about DW.

You should look around in a properly lit environment then.

You call those screenshots? The first one is of the product case and the second one we can do ourselves with any number of ship sets ... [8|]

IIRC, it was said that the game will be released at beginning of 2013.
Of course, there's lots of work on the game, and we all should wish good luck, but...
It's about time for screenshots, indeed.

Larry Monte is also doing a great Lets Play in the moment. He is playing without any automation - very interesting.

You realize I am talking about Pandora: First Contact, right?

Alpha Centauri with new graphics? Sign me up. I just wish they'd gone with a hexagonal grid instead of an orthagonal one.

Yes, I know what you're referring to.

It's just that there's no real information about it yet.
