turn 100 !!

Post by Stelteck »

Turn 100 : 13 April 1943

Situation of my army after 100 turns !!! :

Image

Image

This turn, the rain returned and so halted my planned offensive, featuring 3 tank armies, one regular tank Army and 4 cavalry corps, + one fully loaded front with infantry.
Tank corps are now quite well trained now (although there are still some newbies, as some of my olders tank corps are in reserve near moscow or others part of the front). I hope they will get some experiences and maybe guard promotion.

Turn 101 : 20 April 1943

A good turn of good weather. It is a pleasure to see my truck pool growing and all general situation of my forces getting better.

5 soviet divisions encercled in the caucasus. Not so much men lost as these divisions were already half strengh due to the terrible battle condition in the area.

Image

In the east, soviet offensive performed some test uninspired push against the german line. German are retreating !!!

Turn 102 : 27 May 1943

In the caucasus, the ennemy is washing late soviet divisions. But it looks like ennemy troops are retreating from the area. Maybe he sent some renforcement elsewhere.

Image

And in the east, soviet carefull push !!! Ten tank corps managed to encercled one german infantry regiment. Great victory !!!!
Totally not overkill.

Turn 103 : 03 June 1943 !!!

Rain returned in most of the soviet union !!!

In the caucasus, my opponent finished cleaning some encercled soviet divisions. But now my defenses are strong.I may be able to counter attack a little here.

Image

In the east, i managed to kill the encercled german regiment despite the rain !!!

New prisonners for the goulag !!!

Turn 105 : 17 June 1943

Offensive operations in the east resumed !!!

The german performed a little strategic retreat.

Image

But my tank corps reached them on the run and broke the front. Unfortunately, i did not dare sending them in deep and ordered them to retreat to safety for now after cutting the railroad.
General Zukov look at me with shame.

I would be careful you are still facing a very strong German army and he has moved most of his armor to face your offensive...he could very easily turn it against you. You lines IMO are very weak, so he could very easily hit you with a reversal.

I keep some reserves in the rear, but you are right.

On the other hand, i'am not sure my opponent is used to take risk when he can achieve its goal by managing carefully the situation. He is not really interested in performing "great move".

Turn 106 german retreat surprise

Post by Stelteck »

Turn 106 : 24 June 1943

This turn is the end of the second year since the start of the war.

To commemorate this even, the nazi invader decide to chicken and retreat 200km behind another defensive line.

I'am not sûre the german high command would have been proud of this cautious move.

My air force tried some interdiction attacks without too much strategic effect.

Turn 107 : 01 July 1943 !!!!

The operations are stopped by a new and rare episode of rain at this time of the year.

Image

So let's do a little resume of my glorious soviet army.

Let's look at production first :

Image

As you can see, my main tank now is the T-34, version 1942 and 1943 which have little differences (only in reliability). I have 13K T-34 in my army.
But i'am still producing the obsolete T-70 and still have 5000 on them in my army.
I'am still using a good numbers of lean lease tanks (although some are not in production anymore and so not displayed above).
I also use around 1000 Kv1, not produced anymore.

I have also now a decent production of tank hunter SU-X that i can put in support units inside rifle corps.

I have 3000 rocket truck launcher BM-13 in storage. Unfortunately i do not have the political points nor need to create support units that use them, as i already have a good numbers of gun-based support units. I probably should have created less gun based support units to use more rocket launcher trucks. Will do it next game.

Image

I'am currently having 136 rifle corps. They now worth a good german division.
I still have 100+ rifle division to convert left.

Image

I have 21 cavalry corps.

Image

And 33 tank corps.

My best tank corp is very good, but most of a good number of them are still in training.

Turn 108 : 08 July 1943

Good weather returned, and my opponent slowly retreat as usual.

The weakest point of ennemy line is far east and i have a good force here that try to push.

Image

In the caucasus, i have proof that the german DCA is working. (Not sûre for the soviet one yet lol).

Image

In South east, my costal army, one of my best troops is trying to travel far away from supply line, to the steppe, to Aztrakhan.
It is quite dangerous, but if i can take the town, troops will be supplied by sea. And i do not think there is a lots of ennemy troops here.

Image

Ps: my ennemy did not upgrade to patch 1.10.0 yet, but i did. I hope it will not mess too much the game and hope he will be able to upgrade soon.

My logistic manager is happy :

Image

I'am currently getting from lend lease and production : 5161 trucks per turn.

And due to good weather and current mild aggressive offensive (Where tanks corps stay on railroad in reserve just in case instead of berzerking against the ennemy) :

Image

I'am currently loosing around 1500 trucks per turn.

So net balance : 3600+ Yeaaaaaaa !!!

I'am also ok on the supply side. I'am swimming in armement points.

Soldiers production is not very big, but my army is slowly growing, mainly due to the decrease of front line attrition due to good weather and better trained soldiers.

Aztrakhan liberated by glorious coastal army

Post by Stelteck »

Turn 109 : 15 July 1943

As usual when my good infantry get close and risk is increasing, the german is retreating of some ground.
But the retreat is very slow. I will not reach berlin with this speed. I will have to send my tank corps loose at a moment.
But not today.

Image

In the South East, the always successfull Coastal Army, a truly legendary unit manage to victoriously capture Astrakhan by surprise, despite the defense of a good german division.
More medals for Georgy Zakharov.

Image

And in front of moscow, a demonstration that brute force could be an effective strategy.

Image

I try to convert all front to offensive in order not to allow the ennemy to send renforcement in others part of the front.

Another town liberated

Post by Stelteck »

Turn 110 : 22 July 1943

Not much this turn, the usual small german retreat and me following.
But i capture the major city of ... do not remember the name, but it is good [:D]

Image

As you can see, i always keep troops, tanks, in the rear to react if the ennemy try a major counter attack.

Ivan have teeth

Post by Stelteck »

Turn 111 : 29 July 1943

This turn i tried to push a little more to try to prevent a quick withdraw of nazi troops, engaging a Guard Tank army.
During german turn, he will manage to liberate its troops and retreat to safety netherless. (you will see next turn).

Image

In aztrakhan, a funny play as the german ennemy bombed the city to prevent repair and so supply of my troops by sea. It was successfull !!
I'am sending an airfield with fighter planes the next turn.

Image

Let's look at peacefull part of the front. The north for example.

The northern front do nothing currently, and i have to reconfigure it to offensive operation. Unfortunately, i do not have a lot of political points availables.

If the Leningrad Front is idle, you might transfer those valuable artillery units somewhere else.

Any idea of the OOB?

You're on the right way but the road to Berlin will be loooooooooonnnnng.

Just a thought, keeping railway opened with such an occupied territory must be hell for the axis...

Turn 112 : 05 August 1943

I will take a pict of OOB as soon as possible.

The german easily freed all their threatened units in the east. German army is still quite strong and could make me bleed, even try a good offensive with descent chances of success.
But the ennemy do not do it because of :fear: [:'(]

Image

A little look at the north east where i slowly progress.

Image

In the caucasus, i tried to escape from my corner by brute force with no success. I have to rethink my strategy here.

Turn 113 : 12 August 1943

Similar from the others turns, but a german regiment did not get the evacuation order and now is doomed.

This is the order of battle :
