T13 Soviet Garrison:

The Soviet Garrison is now at 126% and you can see the lower amount of partisan activity in the Minsk to Smolensk area. This helps freight move much easier and faster to the front.

No the Axis did not have sufficient men to cover the entire front properly. This is part of what caused the Winter Problems for the Axis as they were too spread out and the Soviets were able to mass their troops in strength.

do also think its a bit of an AI issue. Most human Soviet players are very saliant-averse, to the point (I think) where they cede ground too easily. That in turn keeps the front line relatively linear with less demand for German breakdowns.

at 110+, the AI is pretty casual on this point and will hold onto quite deep salients?

I think Loki may be on to something there. If you look at the AGN/AGC Valdai Hills area most Human Soviet players would be pulling back there but the AI is willing to keep the salient going.

Hi
Just wondering if you could have look at this screen shot on air doctrine.

This what you had initially had for one of your games from a previous AAR.

You then got some feed back by another player that is was not producing good positive results.

So you modified it however I stayed with your original format for number of reasons.

1. I don't have " fog of war " on because I am playing the AI and don't feel the need for a extra challenge so recon is a low priority.

2. Once again I will always leave the AI to control my Airforce, rather let it handle that I have enough trouble working out the ground forces.

So I was hoping you kind enough to look at this and show what I could do improve ground support for my ground battles if there is better format.

I also seem to be losing a hell of a lot of transport planes around Leningrad so I need to put a stop to that to if possible.

Recon should be Mission AC Pct 100 now (as recommended by another player) and Escort AC Pct 0.

The only real effect Doctrines have on Ground Support is thorugh the Mission AC Pct (as well as altitude but 9000 is a good compromise). So you could raise the Mission AC Pct higher to get more bombers involved. You could do the same with Escort AC Pct but that would only increase the escorts without affecting the actual bombing. I believe that the highest you can go is 300% for each of these ratings. I know that Tyrone had a way that was generating over 1000 bombers each GS Mission for the Soviets but that was with massive micromanagement and much of that has since been nerfed - also the Axis do not have the 1000+ bombers to perform the missions.

I have no idea as to how to change anything at all with the transports. I don't know if they key off a Doctrine or whether they just have a default one.

if you are using the AI-assist key is which command they are hooked to. Try to make this a second echelon formation and then they will tend to target airbases behind the front, it you pick a front line formation you risk losses

but .. both sides tend to have more transport aircraft than transport airgroups so maybe not such a huge issue

This game appears to be bugged. I looked at what the Soviet AI is doing. The Soviet Southern Front has nothing assigned to it and all of what should be assigned to it instead is assigned to the Stavka.
