And Calcutta....

And no, these veteran Malaya units were not formed from cadres lifted by submarine and rebuilt. [8D] These units were either evaced by air or sea transport in their entirety from Singapore/Java/Australia/India. Any fragments have their parent units in India making their way to Calcutta by rail from Bombay.

Ron,

Your India defense looks very similar to the one I had prepared for Blackwatch, that he never game me a chance to use.

I doubt Mogami will go for it either, but I think that is a sign of intelligence.

Mogami does not intend to go for India as he does not play that way...he stated his strategy at the outset and will no doubt stick to it. I have to play the same way to keep some semblance of reality to the table as taking advantage of Mogamis style and stripping India would be grossly gamey. I even leave large air, land and sea forces at SF, Aleutians etc to simulate the requirements needed to guard these areas, Panama etc. As stated earlier, I even have convoys running between bases in OZ and even one to Nome and Juneau.

Still have about 300/400 AKs sitting around doing "nothing" and I have millions of supply in Oz and New Zealand.

Just look at these supply levels!...

Allied subs 0/4 today. Two premature detections and two with misses and duds. Weak escort fails to drop any DCs, although we had one of those "supposedly dropped DC attacks" where no animations or ammo expenditure occurs.

Forgot to stand down my IL4s! Ooops. Aaah, as Zhukov said, they are just men or something like that.[8|]

Hi, No there were two animations where ASW missed. 1 up by Formosa and 1 down south.
Then there were two contacts where sub fired but escort failed to locate.

Weird, I saw the statement and the number oand type of DCs listed but that was it...no splashes for misses. Did they expend ammo?

Hengchow succumbs under a 44 unit death star.[X(][:D] A gallant but hopeless battle. Well, there goes the railroad but I have enough dug in units farther inland. Hope Mogami does not stay on road ignoring these units and capture Chungking on me![8D]

Major furball over Rahaeng sees the RAF kicked in the gnads.

Hi, You don't need a degree to see that Changsha is now flanked. I'll wait a week before starting my envelopment. Get out now and on road to Chungking and war in China is over. I won't bomb units on road or in Changsha after this turn.
At start of game I thought Chinese units destroyed would return. Since this appears not to be true I don't want to actually destroy any Chinese units. (But I will if I have to in order to get China quiet) The war should now move where it belongs. (Pacific and Burma)

Japan is going to
1. Take Rangoon
2. Reqain air control in SRA
3. Finish taking SRA
4. Kill the USN when it tries to intrude inside my defense barrier.

The Hengchow and Changsha garrisons were ordered to move last turn but the disruption was too high for them to make it out in one turn I guess.

Rangoon should be fun! So should remainder of SRA. Gonna be good.

Hi, OKhere is how I am going to treat China for rest of war.
1. After this turn I will stand down unless a Chinese unit is on or east of RR.
2. I'll allow units to retreat without bombing.
3. Allied airgroups are free to bomb from Chinese airfields with following restrictions. (your free to bomb I'm just telling you what will happen if you trigger a Japanese response)
A. If Allied heavy bombers based at Chinese fields attack a Japanese base that contains a port (whether port is target or not) Japanese will move to capture the airfield.
B. If Allied bombers don't attack targets outside China or ports inside China the Japanese will only utilize air assets to counter. (The war is over unless you trigger the historic Japanese reaction)
C. No Japanese unit that begins game assigned to CEA will ever be deployed outside China.

Unless the unit has 5 fatigue and no disruption, it will always take at least 2 turns to move out of a hex. Also, whenever an enemy unit bombards or attacks, your movement will reset to zero. It has been my experience that if you have units in contact with each other, the only movement that will happen will be from being pushed out by your opponent.

Anyway, that is my experience. It would be nice to be able to avoid that last day's attacks and retreat in good order. As it is now, you get trashed beyond the ability to recover within 3 months. It's not a big deal vs the AI, as it only goes so far anyway.
The older I get, the better I was.

Big air battles over Bankok in an effort to stop the Japanese air power from emaciating troops at Rahaeng. Many Japanese troops are massing there for an attack to make Tavoy/Moulmein bases untenable from flank. We'll see if Ord Windgate's Chindits can help out.

Lombok invaded and Jap TFs were hit by B-25s...too late to disrupt invasion due to weather but more APs are damaged and sunk.

Mogami continues to expand in the Solomon Sea area, with only Port Moresby remaining of import in the entire area aside from Oz. PM has been basically silenced from Rabaul and Lae based airpower.

Hi, Torpedo planes attack at 200 feet regardless of altitude set
and divebombers attack from 2000 feet regardless of altitude set. Wonder how your AC are delievering their loads? (my guess is they are divebombing)
