FDR Keeps reconing Dutch Harbour area in Aleutians. Also he is reconing Oz (My LBA's are on standby). This makes me think that he has some plans in these areas.

I have my CV Fleet replenishing at Pearl Harbour. CV Franklin is 2 days off of joining them. As said he way too intrested at my deployments in North Pacific. I'am thinking about sailing my CV's to the Aleutians area and see if he has his BB's lurking around there. This might be a wild goose chase but if it is than it is. But If I'am able suprise his fleet there than it might be worth the effort.

Ignore the sub spotting , if he assumes your heading to wake all the better.

extra 20 days for the solomons and DEI, your a really nice man [;)]

and it appears your back on track with your oldest game, good going, i admit i had my doubts you'd find an opponent for japan but im pleased to be proved wrong and FDR looks like a good player , should make for an interesting endgame

I'am going take your advice and go ahead with my "plan" as you suggested Rob. Just maybe I can catch his CV fleet and force him to battle it out.

The question is whether I should raid Tokyo or Aleutians area? I haven't made up my mind yet.

FDR is a good opponent and I think we are both enjoying this one. We can gather late war experiences. Actually it is quite "boring" to always start at Dec 1941. The first year or two are not that pleasant for allied side of things.

I'am not even convinced that I can "win" this game though since Japanese are not that weak as everyone would expect. It is an challenge for both sides.

What will happen when/if I deciede to assault Guam, Tinian and Saipan??? Basically I need those bases so that I can bomb the Japanese home island and hurt his economy.

FDR moved his Airforce out of Makin Atoll. Propably an wise move.

Apamama airfield is at level 4. (58% towards level 5) When this base reaches level 5 than all hell will break loose in this area. I have plenty rested 4E bombers on standby.

Definately worth a second whack at hanoi, caught him with no cap too .. hehe. . when you first mentioned it i was assuming a raid on the HI or such . In hindsight the AF was a better target.

As to boring 2 years as allies .. never [:D]. OK you have be wary but that doesnt mean run away and hide ( that is boring for both players and i suspect a cause for games to collapse as it neither fun for either side)

Have you thought of completely ignoring the Pacific and joining up with the brits for invasion sumatra and malaysia ? then overland to recapture china and bomb from there ? just an idea , no idea if its a valid strategy though.

More ground troops have made their journey here from West Coast.

I'm looking forward to the CV plan , what ever it is [&:]

My idea was left field/out of the box , whatever the latest 'business speak' is for a cranky idea. I seem to have an inordinate number of cranky plans from time to time. but seriously though .. avoiding all those Atoll fights might be possible and a lot less bloody for you. I'd go up new guinea coast though to the PI to ensure the DEI is closed. BUT i'm full of crazy ideas ( or something at least [;)])

SS Archerfish eh .. must be waiting for the shinano to arrive [:D]. the MSW's are a poor substitute for a flattop.
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit :)

Shinano would be a nice target [:D] ...I have actually propably + 100 submarines lurking at enemy shipping routes. Maybe I can get a hit on flattop sooner than later [;)]

As said the CV plan will become public within few turns [:D]

I did look my ground troop placings and I think the idea is not yet fully reasonable. Too many US Divisions are way too far away. But IF the Mandalay operation is succefull than that would change things quite a lot. There are +120 000 troops there but I have plenty of firepower available too. Intresting to see what happens....

Apamama's airfield has now been build up. This means that you can expect heavy bombers to start their campaign at Marshall's. (Majuro will be the first place to be targeted)

It looks like he has withdrawn some of his troops out of Tarawa and Makin Atoll. That is propably a wise move too since those bases will be captured soon enough.

The operation REVENGE was reveleaded by the allied HQ!

This operation was launched couple of weeks ago and it's designed target is Tokyo harbour!!!

My CV's were spotted couple of turns ago. I tried to make an impression that those CV's would be supporting an invasion at Wake Island. That "decoy" worked a while but now enemy Betty's find our fleet just outside Tokyo.

Day Air attack on TF at 73,43

Japanese aircraft

Ki-43-IIa Oscar: 60 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
F6F Hellcat: 2 destroyed, 10 damaged
F4U-1 Corsair: 1 destroyed, 4 damaged

There will be no suprise left. I think he has heavy fighter CAP around Tokyo but next turn allied naval airforce will strike the docks at Japanese capital.

Suprisingly no sign of KB. (As I stated earlier CV Soryo was spotted near Singapore) One major goal was to commit KB in decisive battle action.

Also couple succesfull sub attacks. Two enemy TK's reported sunk.

Operation Revenge has played it's role. At dawn Tokyo received allied full attention.

Some of the strikes did not have escorts flying so those where costly. Unfortunately FDR saw this coming a little too early and managed to sneak out his cruiser squadrons.
