Indian Ocean/Oz: Two more burning AK's sunk today but the LYB carriers are not to be seen. They are probably retiring but Rord Admirar David-san routinely does the old jimmy-leg move then returns one or two days later. There are ELEVEN units at Port Headland! I think it will take more than a brigade to take it.

14 Kt USN AP's headed South from Pearl. Renown has arrived at Wellington and will head over with the carriers and USN BB's. Lots of preparation to do. Engineers leaving San Diego by the boatload.

So I took Stalker Girl to Vegas for her birthday and we are staying at the Venetian. We head out to dinner at this steakhouse/bistro place. There are two really good looking receptionists...which means it is going to be expensive but I already knew that. When we sit down the prices on the entrees shocked us both a bit. The steaks are 60-110$ ...and that is just for the steak. [:D]

There is no wine under $60. Meanwhile I am already plotting a strategy...the Halibut is $33...a STEAL[:D] and they have a really great selection of beers. Anyway, I have adapted quickly but Stalker Girl just freezes. Her brain just stopped. I finally had to take control and just order two Halibut meals and some sides and some crab salad. It was REALLY good.

Yes, that is exactly the point. One expects to do some penance when the gift is the trip and the night out. It has to be cloth tablecloth and napkins and one wants the guy with the scraper thingy to come around and scoop up the bread crumbs.

It was just more pennance than I anticipated. [:)] It wasn't a disaster. With the 20% bill to room discount we got out of there with $150 including the tip and that is with 3 courses including dessert, amaretto and espresso.

Plus I won about $400 playing craps and blackjack[:)]*

Yes it is. That is why you can't get greedy and push your bet up too much when the deck is good because most dealers will shuffle. And you have to be picky about how many spots are taken. Annoying, really, not like the old days.[:)]
