will move more bombers into the area to wear down the trapped enemy Army. Would really like to see my bombers attack more than one or two targets every turn. You do far more damage if 5x60 bombers attack 5 different LCUs than if 300 bombers attack 1 LCU...

please tell me what Swift is up to! No idea what he thinks to achieve with such an attack. This is even worse than in 12/41 as his aircraft are the same as a year ago and his pilots are the same as a year ago with crappy experience, while I field Tojos instead of Oscars now (well at least the Zeroes are still the same) but I also field pilots in the 80s compared to the USAAF pilots in the low 50s. With our fighters having a clear advantage in numbers and the bounce for most of the fight this is a complete one sided engagement and a pretty off result when looking at the aircraft lost. Just doesn´t make sense to launch such a sweep.

Japanese forces CAPTURE Rockhampton base !!!

TK rgt takes the empty Rockhampton. We capture 5.000 supplies, 10.000 fuel and 50.000 resources. The resource centers are nearly undamaged (594/600 [&o]) which means we have now another BIG resource center to feed our industry. The problem will be how to get it out of Rockhampton as it´s only a couple of hexes North of Brisbane which is full of enemy bombers. Perhaps we are lucky and the resources are drawn North to safer bases.

the Allied bombers from Brisbane will be enough to stall my offensive here. But it´s no problem as we have already achieved more than we thought. The destruction of a BB, a BC, more than adozen CA/CL and the probable destruction of those Australian divisions in the pocket in the North was worth the adventure. Not to talk about the months of delay of a probable invasion based in Australia against New Guinea or Timor.

I hate it when the Allied most of the times get attacks on several units in a stack...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on 1st Australian Division, at 44,102

Japanese aircraft
Ki-49 Helen x 179

No Japanese losses

Allied ground losses:
121 casualties reported
Guns lost 2

Aircraft Attacking:
15 x Ki-49 Helen bombing at 6000 feet

... whereas we get only one attack with all bombers against one unit in the stack. The more different attacks you get, the more damage you do - that´s how the game works...

Day Air attack on 1st Australian AT Regiment, at 45,104

Japanese max assault: 1529 - adjusted assault: 527 [8|]

Allied max defense: 841 - adjusted defense: 850

Japanese assault odds: 0 to 1

Japanese ground losses:
1158 casualties reported
Guns lost 94
Vehicles lost 51

Allied ground losses:
1508 casualties reported
Guns lost 16
Vehicles lost 19

this is the Allied stack that makes a stand one hex North of Brisbane. At least this is a clear hex, but the three A2G attacks today highly disrupted three of my units and our adjusted av once again looks horrible. [8|] At least we haven´t lost that many troops... what was shocking is the fact that there suddenly appeared 20!!! units at Brisbane, I have no idea which units there are now. 12 Allied units make a stand in the hex North of Brisbane, 3 try to flank me West of Brisbane (wooden hex so it will take some time until they move) and now 20 damn units are at Brisbane (wooden hex, level 9 forts probably - so impossible to take).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ground combat at 44,102

Japanese Bombardment attack

Attacking force 22444 troops, 223 guns, 10 vehicles, Assault Value = 1286

Defending force 48902 troops, 283 guns, 7 vehicles, Assault Value = 1187

Castor, if you have the airfields in range, base your bombers at multiple airfields.  Then they usually will fly separately and achieve the result you desire.
