RE: Allied AI vs Fulkerson

It's Wed. 20June2012 and I just sent some moves to Rob and Jim had a family emergency to take care of so I'm back to my fall-back game and this post will move it from the second page of AAR's to the first page. I'm starting up WITP-AE and will have some pictures to post shortly.

EDIT: Do you guys go through your own AAR to get caught up in the general flow of things? I've been away from this game for so long I don't remember where everything is and what's going where. I re-read page 14 and 15 of this AAR to sortof get caught up and I'm still in the dark about a lot of the battlefield.

This can't be a CVE can it? I'm not even sure the Allies HAVE any CVE's this early in the war. Maybe one in Indian waters.

Remember, your Glen pilots are not that skilled or exp'd yet. They'll mistake ship types a lot. Likely an AVD or something like that. Same with your FP's around the HI ... you'll get contacts of TF's of 9 ships and its really only one sub.

Pax is correct.

Larry, the US doesn't receive CVEs that early..nor are there any at start that would be around PH.

Are you still playing this game? I really enjoy following this. I am about to start up a Japan vs AI game myself to tackle the beast... so, I read through yours and others to pick up game play tips.

I currently have my PBEM against Hartwig and Bill with Harvey and Mike... and I am playing a Guadalcanal VS Jap AI at present...I was just thinking about trying Japan..
Life is tough. The sooner you realize that, the easier it will be.

Yes I am. What's happening is that I've got two separate PBEM games going......one with Rob and one with Jim and when I'm working on the moves for one of them this ( Allied AI ) game get's moved to the back burner. Then when I'm without moves from one of my PBEM opponents then I pick up this game where I last left off and so on. Sometimes it's quite a stretch before I get back to this game but I haven't quit on it.

I think you'll find that the Jap AI isn't quite up to human standards but might give you something to do rather than going to bars to pick up lonely women to take to motel rooms where you wake up in a road-side ditch without your wallet and lipstick on your collar.

I tried that Guadacanal scenario and wasn't impressed with the level of fuel and supplies available for the Jap player. Plus there's the lack of any repair shipyard to repair Jap ships. Plus there's a series of long stretches where nothing seems to be happening. It turned out to be rather boring for my taste. On the other hand in the grand campaign game there seems to always be something happening somewhere.......at least so far. I'm up to Dec 31, 1941 in one of my PBEM games. Paying HI for Jap pilots on the first of the month is going to take a bite out of my HI pool and I'm not looking forward to that very much.

Did I happen to mention that the Allied subs are being a pain-in-the-neck? There's at least 6 of them operating near the home islands.
