May/Jun 1940
Impulse: 2 (Axis)

Mussolini continues to do what he should have done in real life and stayed the hell out of the war.

The Japanese continue to tool around in China to absolutely no effect and wishing they had had the foresight back in 1937 to take the same road as Il Duce.....

Over to Keith for the rest of the impulse.
Now Maitland, now's your time!

The Germans declare one combat. Without air support, the odds are 44:16. The Luftwaffe is tasked with a maximum effort. Do the French want to add ground support or intercept the bombers? Germany has a Bf-109, Bf-110 and He-112 that can counter.

The 4 strength FTR2 (MS 406) intercepts the German bombers. And the artillery provide defensive ground support.

Germany counters with the Bf-109's.

The German fighters are slightly late, leaving the opening wave of Do-17's exposed. Seeing the approach of the French fighters, the bombers jettison bombs and break for home.

The French fighters then continue their success. Do they target the bombers or fighters?

The Germans stay. After 4 more rounds of combat, the results are dismal for the Axis. Where do the victorious French fighters land?

The Germans choose a Blitz, which pushes the French back with little loss to either side but the German formations lose cohesion in the process.

The Germans rebase the Bf-110 closer to the front and fly the Hungarian fighter up to Karlsruhe. Von's Rundstedt and Boch reorganise 7 land units.

The weather is mostly fine.

Oh my goodness ... I bet you could replay this air battle 100 times and not get remotely close to this result. [:(]

In the absence of AllenK and to move things along, can you land it from whence it came please?
