Command HQ's will supply torps. 5th is one of your very few mobile COmmand HQ's. Use it wisely.
I see what you mean. I could put it in the Marshalls and have torpedoes available at every base in the marshalls and gilberts.

They are not in good shape, because you just sunk 3/4th of them :)
thanks. I shock attacked and destroyed 2 of them and the other died due to attrition. Lord Howe is all mine again.

Depending upon its range … I forget right now … To start you only have 2 mobile Command HQ's. Right about now you should be getting a 3rd one. SE Fleet or something like that.

You need to have one moving around to enable TOE upgrades. The other two, have assigned for your primary targets. They give huge tactical boost.

I had no idea SE Fleet was a command HQ. I tried so hard to move Air HQs around when i had a command HQ right there all the time.

I didn't realize that you have to have a command HQ around to upgrade units. What a waste of time i've had with that. Please keep posting if you can. I'm learning so much.

Fly in some reinforcements. Your IJN transport planes should have over 30 hexes range. One naval bombardment, and you would stall them in place.

As for Sinyang, seriously don't bother. Leave two most beaten Divisions, and Heavy artillery and bombard Chinese to dust. Move rest of your forces against Nanyang, and Ichang. Sinyang will starve.

Oh, and one more thing. If you have some fuel at those remote islands, which get constantly bombarded, leave there flotilla of Midget Submarines (undocked). You can create them from supply. This is the only useful thing, you can do with them. Offensively, they will sink 90% of the time before even reaching target.

Thanks inqistor. I'll fly some in but it won't be much. KB and lots of BB TFs soon.

Singyang is right in the middle of my rail line and i'd like to reorganize some divisons if i could clear it. But i guess i'll follow your advice. I can send all those troops to Nanyang, Ichang and then sian.

I've never used midgets before but i will give them a try.

It's 4/6/42 and Ki-45A1a Nick starts production today. Ki-44IIa looks like 4/15/42 but it's too soon to tell about Ki-44IIc but A6M5c Zero looks like 6/12/42.
I'll get the last of the Junyo CVs in 6 days. Then i can start accelerating some of the Unryu. Unless somebody has a better idea.
I've accelerated a lot of DDs too. I'm up to 119 in the fleet now. Guess i haven't lost too many. yet.

I only accelerate CV/CVL/CVE's, nothing else.
I don't build any xAK type at all.

Nick is a good plane. Useful as rear 4E killer.
Tojoa is good defensive plane. Tojoc is better, but not that much.

Double check that SE Fleet … my memory aint' perfect. it will say "Command HQ" in its description when you open it. Also, bonus feature, there are 2 (two) 5th fleets in the game for the IJN. The starting one is a command HQ, later you get a second one that is just a Naval HQ. [;)]

I agree about the aks. I don't accelerate them or any APs.

I thought the IIc model of the Tojo was important because it has armor. Is that not worth it?

SE fleet has Command HQ in description AND Radius of 9. That covers a lot of bases. Now with torpedoes. Can't believe i never knew they supplied them. I guess unlimited amounts.

Not a dud. When it says “hit no explosion” it doesn’t show in this report.
Check the belt armour on Akagi compared to Hiryu.
I assume the belt armour is a big part of the reason there’s barely a scratch on her.
The IJN CVs have quite different armour by class,
Currently playing my first PBEM, no house rules Scenario 1 as IJ.

Failed attack generates lots of disruption, and they are already fatigued. If they not bombard from sea next turn, or get reinforcements, next attack will fail miserably.
Look at number of lost devices, not casualties. They lost 10 squads, that's 10 AV. You lost 4, some of which could have been already disabled. Non-Combat are worth 1/10th of AV, so you are down 4.2 in worst case. Despite numbers, you have won 2.5:1.

Yeah, just turn it on, and rewatch combat replay. Just make sure, that you know which key skips animations, or it will take you half an hour.

They work pretty good, when there is no counter battery fire (Chinese hardly have any artillery). Saturate them, they work best in clear terrain. I'm killing like 40 squads per day at Ichang.
