April 13, 1942

Relatively quiet few days, grabbing bases in the SRA, shipping fuel oil and resources, moving troops to Java.

A6M8 advances a month. Nick production starts.

April 14th, 1942

Allied subs sink a DMS off Singers, and damage a merchant ship carrying part of an armored regiment destined for Wake Island...

Task Force Haguro goes sniffing around Baker, clearing the way for a fast transport invasion of Howland Island.

I-10 on a distant patrol finds the Hornet. First spotting of an American Carrier in a long, long time. Will be dispatching Carrier Division 1 to Truk to support Carrier Division 5 that is already there for the Shortlands offensive.

An oiler hit by Dutch sub, is at 25/82 (sys/float) damage. Can she limp to safety?


Need to clean up some of these Dutch air bases...

Howland Island attack successful, but no Seacats are found. Waited too long...will retreat here.

April 17, 1942

With fires only at 2, we disband the Hosho and hope that the fires can be put out while in port. If the fires were higher, then we would have been forced to dock only.

Thankfully, the fires are extinguished. [:)]
