Allied Impulse #9

Weather - Sn/St/R/F/R/F

Everybody takes a Land except for the USA which takes a combined.

The USA moves a couple of units into the 4 box of the Solomons, including a CW div loaded onto a American BB.

Combat is activated in the Marianas by the USA but no combat occurs.

There is no strategic bombing nor are there any GSs.

There are no rail moves. Russia shifts units along its western front looking for powerful attacks in winter. The Nationalists don't do much of anything. The CW and USA move some units to take a hex in France, and the CW also moves from Saipan towards Guam with a MAR div while also going forward in Italy and Burma.

The CW invades Majuro, on the Solomons-Marshalls sea zone boundary.

Three attacks are declared by Russia - in East Prussia SE of Konigsberg, in East Poland 2 hexes NE of Warsaw, and west of Lvov in Southern Poland. The CW attacks Boulogne.

Russia adds Ground Support to the attack NE of Warsaw. It goes unchallenged. Germany adds none.

The invasion in Majuro succeeds automatically. As for Boulogne, the hex is taken with the loss of a MECH and a defender retreat shile both sides are disorganized. Near Konigsberg, the Russians lose a MECH and are disrupted. In N. Poland, the defenders are shattered while 1/2 attackers are disorganized and there is a breakthrough ( no screenshot unfortunately). The same result happens in S. Poland.

In Russia, a few FTRs rebase forward. The CW rebases some units around the Coral Sea. The USA drops units from TRS into France and moves a unit from both Iceland and Greenland. The USA naval reorganizes a CW unit near Boulogne.

The turn does not end on a 5>4.

Jan/Feb 1945

Allies win initiative, no reroll allowed.

Allied Impulse #1

Weather is Sn/Sn/R/F/St/F

China and the USSR take Land Actions while the CW/USA/France take Navals.

The USA/CW/France move to protect convoys. Sizeable presences are made in North Sea, Italian Coast, as well as in the Coral Sea. American CVs enter the Bismarck Sea, trying to breach the Japanese perimeter.

American and French SUBs find in the South China Sea with 10 surprise... 4 of which are used to select SUB combat and 4 to reduce damage and 2 to increase it. 2 Allied SUBs abort while 4 CPs are destroyed. There is no second round.

The Naval step ends with no further successful activations.

There is no strategic bombing done.

No Ground Strikes are accomplished except for the a Chinese Nationalist ART near Nanning. That strike does succeeds.
Russia moves along its front lines with Germany, looking for attacks. The Nationalist do likewise for Japan.

Russia moves to Paradrop on Lvov. It is intercepted and countered. The PARA is cleared while Germany loses a FTR.

Attacks in China are the Communists in the North against a Japanese INF and in the South, the Nationalists try a couple of Blitzes. In Russia, there are attacks near Konigsberg, SW of Brest-Litovsk, 2 hexes SE of there, and on Lvov.

Ground support is added by Russia to The 2 hexes nearest Brest-Litovsk. It is not intercepted. Japan adds Ground Support near Chengchow, which is not intercepted.

Near Chengchow, the Communists lose their MECH with out ill effect on the defenders. In central China, disaster strikes the Nationalists as 4 units are lost with a roll of 2 (a MECH/INF/CAV div/MECH Div). Near Nanning, the Nationalists gain a hex but lose their MECH and are disorganized. (missed the screenshot).

Attacks to be continued...

Allied Impulse #1 Con't

Near Konigsberg, the Russians achieve a breakthrough with 1/2 disorganized and the defender shattered. Near Brest-Litovsk, a blitz sees a breakthrough with both defenders destroyed and no bad effects on the victorious Russians. SE of Brest-Litovsk, the engaged forces trade units.. the Russians lose a MECH div while the Germans lose and INF but keep the hex and the Russians are disrupted. Finally, Russia takes Lvov in an assault but is disorganized and loses a winterized unit.

Russia rebases units forward. The CW moves a FTR forward in Italy and closer to the Bismarck Sea in the Pacific. The USA land a couple of A/C from TRS into Port Vila and Kwajalein.

Nimitz reorganizes 3 BBs in Porta Vila. INF HQs and Zhukov are used to reorganize several land units (leaving 2 ARM HQ and Timoshenko to continue forward later).

Axis Impulse #3

Italy takes a Naval, Japan a combined, and Germany a Land Action.

Japan moves a NAV and 3 FTR into the 4-box of the Bismarck Sea.

Likewise, ships from Rabaul and Japan head into the 3 and 4 boxes of the Bismarck sea zone. Italy moves its remaining navy into the West Med, 3 and 4 boxes as well.

Italy activates in the West Med and achieves 6 surprise... 4 are used to select surface combat, the other 2 to increase damage. 1 CW CL is damaged while the TRS and another CL are aborted. An Italian CL is damaged... the rest abort the combat, so there are no other actions in this sea area.

In the Bismarck Sea, both sides succeed with no extra surprise points to be allocated. In the succeeding air combat, 2 Japanese CVP are destroyed while a NAV is cleared. 1 US CA is damaged while a CV is aborted. There is no 2nd round as the USA avoids combat.

No other naval combats see successful search results.

There are no Strat Bombing runs nor are there any Ground Strikes.

Germany rails a unit to Italy while also sending 2 INF to the East. Land movement is once again a matter of sealing all of the many holes and putting isolated units into supply to be withdrawn. Japan does similarly with the 3 moves it is allowed.

Germany rebases 4 air away from possible overruns in the future. Japan had already used its air actions.

No HQ reorganizations are done.

Allied Impulse #5

Weather - Sn/Sn/R/F/St/F

China and USSR take Land actions while France, the CW and the USA take combineds.

CW moves a CV fleet into the Bismarck Sea, joined by some American BBs and a TRS which picks up the CW ARM Marine and a MAR Div. 2 AMPHS loaded with INF arrive in the 4 box as well.

The USA activates in the S. China Sea and finds with 12 surprise... 4 being used to choose SUB and 4 to decrease damage to the SUB. The last 4 increase damage to Japanese convoys. 2 are sunk and 1 aborted, and combat in the area ends as the American SUB is aborted. (No screen shot).

The Japanese initiate in the Bismarck Sea and gain 8 surprise. They spend 4 points to choose a surface combat and a further 3 to choose a target. The USA loses a loaded AMPH with INF, has a BB dmaged and 2 others aborted. Japan loses a CL and has a BB damaged. There is a 2nd round in which the Japanese get 3 surprise. A Japanese NAV and CVP clear while an American CVP is destroyed. An American AMPH is damaged as well as a CV (2 points were used to increase damage). In a 3rd round, again Japan gains surprise with 5 points. The CW FTR is destroyed while a NAV and CVP are cleared. Another AMPH with INF is sunk and the Japanese select the CV as a target using 3 points and it is likewise sunk. A BB is aborted. In a 4th round, the USA finds but with only 1 surprise point. An Allied FTR is aborted while a NAV clears for the Japanese. A CW CV is aborted. The allies abort the area seeing defeat.

The Naval Phase ends without any other successful activations.

Allied Impulse #5

Continued from Naval Phase...

There is no Strategic Bombing. GS are conducted in Russian by an ART against Guderian and in France, East of Rouen, NW of Vichy, and 2 hexes NE of Toulouse. No intercepts occur.

Guderian is inverted, 2 of 3 units are inverted near Rouen, 2 of 3 by Vichy, and 1/3 near Toulouse.

There is no rail movement. CW/USA and France move forward to attack in France. Russia moves massive forces to the front with Germany. The Communist Chinese actually pull back a bit in defense considering the negative results of their last attack. The CW debark a large ARM into Boulogne.

The CW declare an attack east of Rouen and the USA NW of Vichy. Russia has attacks against Danzig, NE of Warsaw, on the Polish border in the south, and on a Rumanian INF in Transylvania.

Germany adds CAP to the hexes in France. 10 CW FTRs counter and escort. Russia sends many FTRs to do CAP at the front. Germany send FTRs to most hexes, escorting LNDs.

Near Rouen, after having 2 bombers cleared and destroying 2 CW bombers, the Germans decide to abort. Near Vichy, after 1 German LND clears, they decide to abort the combat having lose a FTR to no losses for the Americans (no Screen Shot). Over Danzig, after an FTR is destroyed and another is aborted, the Russians abort the air combat allowing 2 German LNDs to clear. In southern Poland, a German FTR is destroyed and the FTR-bomber aborted.

To continue with the land attacks...

Land attacks continue...

In Danzig, all attackers are disorganized with no losses. NE of Warsaw, the defenders experiences an automatic loss and a MIL is destroyed. In Southern Poland, attacker takes no losses or ill effects and the defender is destroyed. Finally, in Transylvania, and auto-blitz destroys the enemy and allows a breakthough.

The Russians rebase a few units forward. The CW sends a FTR deeper into Burma. The USA transfers a CVP from a TRS onto a CV in Honolulu and moves a couple of FTRs onto islands in the Pacific.

Alexander reorganizes a couple of A/C in France. Hodges in Port Vila fixes a BB. Timoshenko reorganizes a FTR. 2 CW AMPHs reorganize a FTR while the Americans use 4 to do 2 more.

Axis Impulse #7

Japan moves a FTR into the Bismarck Sea 4-box. It moves and loads TRS in the China Sea and confronts the US fleet in the Marianas with a small CV fleet.

In the Marianas, the Japanese and Americans both find with 1 surprise to the Japanese. Japanese elect no to take an air combat. 2 American CAs are aborted and 1 destroyed. 2 Japanese CAs are damaged. A 2nd round of combat is avoided by the USA as they choose to use 4 of their 6 surprise to do so.

There is no Strategic Bombing, nor is there any GSs done.

Germany railed some units to the East and moved units along the various fronts to make them a bit stronger. Japan railed a GAR to Changsha and dropped some units from transports onto the Chinese Mainland.

No combats were done.

Von Leeb restores 2 INF.

The turn does not end on an 6>2.

Allied Impulse #9

Weather roll is an 8 so BL/SN/SN/F/ST/R

All allied powers choose Land except for the US which chooses a combined action.

The USA moves a FTR into the Marianas 4-box.

During Naval moves, a CV, BB and CA are moved into the Marianas 4 box as well.

The USA activates in the Marianas but the Japanese find the allies with 4 surprise. They decide to avoid combat with those points.

No other combats were successfully activated.

No Strategic Bombing or GSs are done.

Russia moves forward on its various fronts. CW moves further into Burma and shuffles units in France. The USA takes up some vacated hexes in France.

Russia declares attacks in south Poland against a German SS ARM and in Rumania against an INF.

Russia adds Ground Support to each attack. There is no interception.

By some miracle, the Rumanian INF in Transylvania survives while the Russians, taking no losses, are disorganized (they rolled a 2). On the other hand, in Southern Poland, the Russians get a breakthrough, although they merely shatter the defending ARM and do not destroy it.

Russia rebase some A/C forward. The CW moves a FTR forward in Italy and in Burma. France moves an LND to Senegal in its long rebase to home. The USA relocates some FTR in the Pacific closer to important areas and unloads some TRS to France.

The CW reorganizes several units including ARM and as well, an FTR.

The turn does not end as 6>4.

Axis Impulse #12

Germany takes a combined while the other MPs take a pass.

Germany moves several SUBs from Kiel into various sea zones in the Atlantic.

In the North Atlantic, the USA finds with surprise. It expends 4 surprise to avoid combat. No other activations result in a successful search on either side.

There is no Strategic bombing or GS.

Germany does its 6 land moves along the front with Russia, trying to set up a defense and, perhaps, save a couple of ARM-HQ in the south (faint hope).

No rebases or reorganizations are done.

Turn ends on a 4<8.
