hi,
just saw your naval shipyard pool, you have plenty of points which you can use for accelerating ship arrival date. Just want be sure that you already accelerated CV's (Taiho, Kasuragi, etc).

Hi, my date is 7/8 42. Already passed 150 rd points for Oscar II - but arrival date is still 43-01[:@].
I guess my decision to research O II is the worst one since Abraham Lincon said "oh, i'm bored, lets go to the theatre" [;)]
Must have 155 rd points or so on OII myself....afraid that it's not going to become my lucky number either [:(]
1/43 is 6 months too late to be of any use at all since P38's and Corsairs will eat it for lunch! May as well go to the theater with Mr. B instead [:'(]

RE: New House rule
I've been keeping an eye on the Taiho, she's progressing well. Do you know if 330 days means 330 days in accelerated construction mode? Forgot to follow it closely enough, but it seems to be that 2 days or so are subtracted from the completion date each day! That would have been great news - really need that ship ASAP! [:)]

hi, i'll take it...
shown data (in your example - 330 days) always means arrival time with normal construcion mode. So, if you turn off acceleraced production and put back in the normal Taiho will come in 330 days. If you leave on acceleraced production she will come 330/2=165 (more or less).

hi,
you have plenty of naval shipyard points unused. You can try with accelerating other ships (CV's or BB's, DD's, its up to you) and keep an eye on naval shipyard points. If it start drain to quickly you can back construction on the normal mode again.
Just my 0.02 lires.

RE: New House rule
Yes, Thanks Pauk.
I've checked and i've already accellerated the Tahio and another CV ( which are scheldued to arrive in 330 days or something ). I'm not relying on them anyway: my KB is intact and i'll try to keep it in good shape to act as a "threatening ghost" for any allied invasion.
Got some doubts about the usefulness ( ?) of my new army fighters....i fear that he won't dare to play daylight missions with his bombers untill p-38 come out....btw, we'll see soon.
As you can see from my screenshots, i've already passed the 100 points of r&r with the A6M3a, but its date is still the same....november 42....i've leart not to give a **** anymore on the researches.....supplies wasted[:(]

RE: New House rule
hi, probably i was little bit unclear. I've tried to tell you that you still have enough naval shipyard points(after acc Taiho and the other one) for accelerating other CV's (like Amagi, Kasuragi...etc:)

RE: New House rule
Ah, ok[:)] I'll do it so:-)
BTW, i really think that when 43 will be reached the japanese CVs won't be anymore that important, due to their lack of AA and the superiority of allied planes, i do really put more hopes on the LBfighters. If these guys will tear down a bit the hellcats and all those nasty planes, then my carrier will probably have some chances of scoring some hits. But again....i already know that my naval assets will be doomed in few months[:(]

RE: New House rule
Imho you shouldn't write off your surface or carrier assets. As long as they exist they are still useful as a fleet in being, forcing the allies to concentrate their fleets on one target at a time. If they are sunk or destroyed the allies can run rampant wherever they want to.
Also after you get Zekes your carriers are again a bit more competetive, as the Hellcat will be the main fighter until late 44 or early 45 when the carriers get some corsairs too.
If you conserve your pilots and train some replacement squadrons in china so you can have your carrier groups at high 80's or even 90 exp levels then you can and will inflict some serious damage when you use your carriers correctly. For example hitting an allied invasion force after it has been attacking your bases for a few days, depleting its aircraft and pilots because of your LBA opposition. Striking then, when his pilots are fatigued can yield good results if you still have very experienced pilots. Granted, your airgroups will also be depleted after that but hopefully you have inflicted enough damage to prevent him chasing down the majority of your carriers.. so they can escape and retrain their squadrons to fight another day. As long as you have isolated chinese units in china you will have an easy time training up your squadrons with ground attack. Training from rookie 30 pilots to solid 60's will only take a week or two.. To superb 80's it will take a lot more.. a few months, but still its better than nothing [;)]

RE: New House rule
Thanks String, that' exactly what i want to do. I'll try to post some screeshots of my carrier air groups as soon as my opponent will send the next turn.
BTW, if i remember well , the bombers and torpedo bombers are in quite a good shape. Most of them are above 85 exp and their numbers are not so much depleded. Different thing for the zero groups: here i suffered some heavy losses during the battles at Darwin, PM and nanoumea Atoll. I used the Mogami method to fullfull the groups that suffered too many losses, but their experience is around 75 average. I'm training some 70 zeros in the PI at the moment. They are carrier capable daitais, so, as soon they reach 80 exp they will disbanded in the carrier trained groups.
When the Operation Timor will be ended, hopefully by the end of August-fist mid sept, i will reorganize completely my carriers fleet, sending some CVs back to Japan for upgrades and sending some air groups to the PI for training program.
I want to be ready with all my CVs, full of exp pilots , by the beginning of 43, when the allies will start to advance in mass....

RE: New House rule
I've noticed that the Taiho is being produced at accelerated 115 while my Katsuragi cv's are accelerated 75.
Does this mean that they're being produced at 115 and 75% above normal production speed?
If this is true the Taiho will arrive in early 43 and the Katsuragis in mid 43! This would be most excellent.
I could have 10 fleet and 4 light carriers by mid 43 - and this would enable me to fight mano el mano with the yank birdfarms that year.

it's just that the Taiho has greater durability than the Katsuragis..

just to add, AFIAK ships with greater durability costs more naval shipyard points.

RE: New House rule
I noticed you have 76000+ merchant points in the pool. That means you can accelerate a lot of merchant ships and AUX or you can shut down all merchant shipyards (don't know if this is possible in WITP) for 75 days and save 3000 HI points each day.

Cat and mouse in Burma
Thanks Amiral, I've already accelerated everything i could except for AP/AKs
Another quite day.
The only action took place, as always in Burma, where the allied intelligence prooved its efficacy, striking at night the exact airport i've planned to use for my bombing mission.....17 planes destroyed on the ground and many more damaged...but, at the first lights of the new day, my guys striked back and smashed 44 allied bombers at Imphal....quite close to 4-1 ratio . I evacuated everything i could from there as soon as my planes came back, 'cause i know he's going to bomb the heck out of that AF....cat and mouse goes on.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 08/10/42
Nothing to report today.
The chinese are fleeing from Sining, their last city, moving along the jungle trying to get to India. Tomorrow my invicta troops will march trough it and the flag of Mikado will be up all over China!
Big problems related with fuel at Sosarbja: Op.Timor is delayed again[:(], cause my main carriers are completely out of gas[:@]

Pacific quite
So the moment has finally come.
The americans are launching the first offensive operation in Southern Pacific.
My bombers on patrol duty from Rabaul spotted an enemy TF some miles south of Gili Gili.
The betties were not able to find the target but at least 4 ships have been spotted. The speed in unknown, so i do not know if is a Fast trasport or a normal invasion TF.
My defences have been allerted. 5 betty daitais are ready at Rabaul, supported by 50 zeros and 36 oscars. 22 nells are at Munda with 19 A6M3s.
The carriers i left at Truk have been mobilized( 228 combat planes with them ) along with 2 BBs,3CAs an 4CLs. 20 DDs will support the carrier group.
At Rabaul the South Sea Det. is loading on a 20 Ship TF ready to make a counterlanding.
At Rabaul a Surface TF composed of 1CLs and 5 DDs is ready to come into action.
Now, for sure the enemy brought in his 3 carriers. He doesn't have any near base to cover the invasion with LBCAP.
At Gili Gili only 1 Naval garrison, with no supplies( due to the constat bombing of 200 B-17s), will try to defend the place. Some 1200 mines should help a bit.
I hope my LBbombers will score some hits, so that when my carriers will be ready on the theatre ( 3/4 days i guess), the enemy should be already in trouble.
This battle is going to be bloody, i know, but if i lose gili gili, then my whole souther perimeter will be in danger!
Side note:
China is now a Japanese Dominion
Sining Has finally Fallen!
