New Turn

Axis won the initiative since Allies declined to reroll. Will Axis go first?

Do you need any pictures to help deciding?

Germany votes for going first.

What is situation in BoB? If there are no ships in upper boxes we go first for sure.
If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

Axis go first.

I'm working today, I can play tonight. I give some instructions to AllenK so that he can start our impulse if he comes online.

I trust you will rustle up some suitably bad weather?

J/F 42 Axis 1

No DoW or alignments.

Japan land, Germany Combined, Italy naval.

Italy flies a FTR From Spain to CSV 2-box. Germany flies a Fw-190 and Bf-110 to Biscay 2-box. Japan puts a NAV in the China Seas 2-box.

Germany sends a sub from Bordeaux to Biscay 2-box. Italy adds a sub from Gibraltar. Another sub is sent to the East Med 2-box. TRANS from Albania sails to the West Med 1-box and loads INF from Africa. The 2 CA's already at sea drop to the 1-box for close escort. 3 BB's sail from Italy to the West Med 4-box.

Biscay, CSV and East Med are available for naval combat.

First up CSV.

The Italian FTR initiates and a NAV from Spain joins it in the 2-box.

The Allies have their usual menage of aircraft that could take part. Do any wish to rise to the occasion?

The RAF and RCAF scramble 2 Hurricane units, while the Indian Air Force deploy their Buffalos. All proceed to the 0-box to provide CAP for the convoys. A Swordfish unit is also sortied in case enemy shipping put to sea.

Searches: Axis 6, Allies 2. No combat.

Next up, Biscay.

The Bf-110 initiates the search. Germany adds a NAV to the 2-Box, while Italy adds 2 more.

The Allies have numerous aircraft they could use. Not shown is the Skua based in Belfast.

Probably easier to show what is not being added. The British fly 6 units to the 0-box. A Skua plus all fighters except the Hurricane IIA in Bayonne.

I make that 5 units. The 2 Spitfires, the Skua, the Mustang and the Beaufighter. Just checking I haven't missed something.

Sorry, the 6th unit must be the convoy. So long as you've got one Hurricane and two Lancasters in the top left then its all good.

The Axis commit their subs.

Searches: Axis 3, Allies 8.

The Axis use 4 points to choose sub combat.

With their new ASW capability, Allied convoys start fighting back against the undersea menace.

They still take their toll, however.

The Axis intend to continue. Allies too?
