This is the bat file I am using for both of these tries:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms384m -Xmx768m -jar "WitPTracker.jar" nomap
pause

I checked, and no file in the jre6 and below have been changed this year.

I did that Damian, it didn't change anything. I have tried to start a new database using the latest turn with the above error. I am not trying to do a multi read, but I have tried both starting a new database and using my old database with the new turn. Nothing seems to work.

The first post I made was trying to start a new database, it does not work.

But, when I load my old database it loads, but I can't read the next turn. It is sounding more like a problem with the turn file, but it seems to be working fine. It loaded in WitP:AE with no problems.

Weird, the first screen shot shows that this is a pwsdll.dll issue, but the second screen shot shows a different thing. I'll send you a PM in 2 secs so you can send me a save file or two.

I've looked in the thread but probably I'm not good in searching
When I look at map in the tracker, how can I read the colours of the search arcs?
I'm trying to use map to better make a good searching planning, but I'm finding it difficult in decoding it

Many thanks

It should match the colors of the arcs in the game. When random arcs are defined, it's a light yellow.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Yesterday, my Tracker was working fine.

Today, I load the Tracker but the application is totally unresponsive. I try to choose categories, load new turn or sort alerts - nothing happens. Tracker is frozen and clicking doesn't work. I can only shut it down via Task Manager.

I have started several Trackers today from different campaigns - same thing. Rebooted my rig - didn't help.

My computer has the same software as yesterday. My mouse is working.

What happened? Did Java upgrade automatically in the background? Was there some Windows update?

Do you point the batch file to the Java6 install? Java 7 updates have a habit of uninstalling Java6 ..

How do I do that? I have run my Tracker without any problems for the last 18 months.

The Java updates pop-up from time to time on may Windows icon tray (I am on Windows XP), informing me that the update is available. I always cancel those meassages manually.

Command Prompt in Accesories tells me my Java version is 1.7.0.05.- b06

EDIT: Strange, seems drag-and-dropping does not work anymore on my Windows. I try do drag-and-drop files to folders and nothing happens...

EDIT II: YES! I killed the bug! Followed the advice in the last post in the thread below and everything works perfectly again! Tracker is responsive.

You'll still need to point to & re-install Java 6 if it has been uninstalled.

To point to it in the witptracker.bat file
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms512m -Xmx640m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"
pause

where the path is the same as your install..

Thanks Damian. I prefer not to touch Tracker ( I am Java illiterate, heheh). I am saving your info for future reference.

Yes, I believe there is a way to resolve this.

But it will take a decent amount of time and a careful hand. It's on my to-do list, but not any time real soon. Sorry...
