Plastered Rangoon but got slaughtered by flak. I destroyed 36 on the ground but lost 41 to flak. Gordon must have every AA gun in the theater here.

Another surface raid got thruogh and hit Talaud Island. With all the AC I have in the area I thought someone would spot and attack them first. Talaud Island is soon to be a lvl 2 AF so I will be moving Beaufighters here soon.

Invasion fleet has departed for Eniwotok.

Eniwetok was captured and the mopping up has begun. Hopefully the damaged ships will stop sinking.

B-24s got suckered into a CAP trap at Palau and got slaughtered. I had some payback at Cebu though.

KB has appeared off of Jolo. I fear that Jolo may have been "A base too far" but hopefullt it has lured the KB to it's doom.

Suface raid on Truk did what the bombers could not and sunk 5 transports. They have been sent back to deal with the ones they missed

The Marshalls operation is over and the CVs have departed for their next target.

Gordon did a counter landing at Jolo with air cover provided by the KB. My strikes were uncoordinated and mainly went after the transports. I nailed a few but lost about 70 more AC than Gordon did. I doubt the paras will be able to hold out once the attack comes. I have fragments of 2 of the units (they did not fly on the initail drop for some reason) and I have sent a suicidal mission to get fragments of the other 2. They are too valuable to lose.

As expected Jolo fell but not before I got fragments out.

Cayagan got plastered. The tally for the day was 300 Jap planes destroyed for only about 120 Allied. Gordon advises me that many of his top aces were killed today.

Diversionary bombardment of Truk destroyed a ton of troops. Hopefully Gordon will think that this is the next target.

Hit the one good mine at Truk with a BB. It will be out of service for a few months (75 sys).

Lost 4 subs to AC. Those Sallys/Helens that bombed Russia are lethal exp levels now. I will have to do something about that. In the mean time my subs have withdrawn to areas outside their range.

Turned around a bombardment TF before it got to Talud Island but suffered heavy AC losses in the process. Luckily my strike agains Marcus Island evened out the AC losses for the turn.

Big plans are in motion. Things should start to happen in early September.

High altitude (19K feet) raid against Rangoon still suffered heavy flak losses. I will have to try even higher.

DMSs ran into CD guns at Davao and got slaughtered yet again. I really think that I am better off bombarding without them and just hitting the mines then I am bringing them along and getting shot up by the CD guns.
