I'm giving my Lysanders a real workout, and as recommended often set to recon with no target. I still don't have 100% faith that they really will find units sneaking up on me. With more experience I might get this faith. Haven't lost any yet to AA but that's most likely just because they haven't encountered any. Up they go further into the sky! I also like those "little guys." They seem to be able to fly day-after-day with almost no fatigue on the airframes and the pilots often return from their day's flying filled with enough energy that they join any on-going cricket games at their bases.

I haven't had a chance to test this feature either. That being said, given the mechanics of other types of missions that don't necessarily need a specific target, it would suggest that it would work as well for recon. The AI will determine its own targets and I'm guessing it doesn't have FoW constraints implemented in its targeting algorithm (though for ships detection does play a role).

Still playing, albeit slowly due to real life and stuff like that.

As of June 28, 1942: No great events, other than my losing a couple of old BB because of rookie mistakes. Japan is no longer expanding but is settling down and, no doubt, building up defensive positions for the future.

India has remained mostly unchanged and Japanese advances in this theater have apparently stopped. I'm still at Benares and my fighters are occasionally sweeping Patna. I'm still learning how to most efficiently rotate fighters (and occasional bombers) up to Benares so they can do battle with the Japanese. Japan made one bomber attack at Jubbulpore from long range but 3 AA units there put lots of holes in the Japanese planes and they haven't returned.

Nothing major is happening in China other than I got tired of constantly rotating LCUs into/out of the 2x hex 3 hexes to the east of Sian. The units in that hex get real beat and I'm now just leaving a bunch LCUs in the 2x hex to, I hope, get destroyed so they return later in Chungking partly filled out. My other units are establishing a new MLR at Sian and in the forests/rough terrain and mountains in the Sian area. Supply is really bad in China and I expect for things to slowly get worse and worse.

I'm moving forward with a couple of minor opportunistic advances in the Pacific that might make things a bit easier in the future when the inevitable Allied advances occur. I've got lots of engineers and might as well put them to work!
