If Kriegsmarine sorties it is more likely that they suffer more than the RN. We need some luck for a even result. I think it would be better to save the German navy for better odds or when Bismarck has arrived.
Another solution is to send out the Italian naval bomber. It needs some luck to send British ships back to port but the risk is very low.
If I go for it I'd like to give it my best shot. I can get my "Napoleon" Squadron (Gneisenau, Scharnhorst and Blucher) to the 4-box with the Italian NAV and the German Sub (already there).
Assuming they achieve nothing then it looks like 3:2 is the best possible - although 2:1 could be achievable if we throw in the Para and all aircraft as bombers and get a bit of luck with the fractional dice.
Whaddya thunk?

Sending out the Squadron N increase the chance to send a few RN ships to port but they are likely to suffer more than they give. I think it is, at this point, bad to engage in attrition combat against the RN.

I started with the other game but then I abandoned it when it seems like we should go back to the DOW step. [:(]
Edit: I almost finished with the naval moves twice. First time I went back to get the Madagascar fix. And I am glad we got it. But at the same time it has made me a tiny bit frustrated as you can see above. [:D]

Italian and Japanese orders for the current impulse follows.
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x
No declarations of war.
Combined: Italy, Japan
No Port Strikes.
Naval Air:
The Italian naval bomber fly to the 4-box of the North Sea.
Low priority request: If Germany has air moves left could the NAV3 in the Italian Coast move down to the 0-box?
Naval Movement:
The TRS in Fukuoka sail to South China Sea (0-box) and embark the Siam Militia.
Italy send one CP to the 0-box of the Italian Coast.
Strategic Bombing:
If Germany has no need for the Italian air transport for this turn then it bombs Lille.
No Ground Strikes.
Rail movement:
6th Reserve Army rail from Kweilin to Tsinan
Land Movement:
Priority Request: Could the German 3rd Inafantry Division, please, liberate the coal resource on Sardinia and then move back to Cagliari? If not, then the Italian militia does not move and the Italian MTN moves through the resource on its way to Cagliari.
The TERR in Italian Somaliland moves one hex to the SW (117, 71). The Rome militia moves towards the French border (62, 34).
The SNLF troops move from Tientsin to hex 73, 144 (one hex NW of Tsinan). The Osaka militia moves three hexes west from Haichow (to hex 77, 145).
Debark:
The Bangkok militia debark to Canton.
No land combats.
Aircraft Rebase:
In Tokyo the CVP rebase so they end up on carriers the same size as the CVP.
2 size CVP to 2 size CV
3 size CVP to 3 size CV
No reorganization.

RE: TOP SECRET ORM + WARSPITE ONLY (Reverse AAR)
The attack on Antwerp failed to take the city, but it did kill a unit without loss (aside from oil), so attacking in this case worked better than not.
I think the Allies made a mistake killing the MIL and not the GAR. Six is bigger than four, after all.
Of course, if you get a double move, the result is excellent. However, I never expect to get a double move, so I don't know why you should. And if you do get a double move, that will guarantee that the weather is storm. [:)]

RE: TOP SECRET ORM + WARSPITE ONLY (Reverse AAR)
Because I keep ending the turn - twice on a one at the very first opportunity of ending so far this game [8|] - the +1 and re-roll is with the Allies.
That ART is potentially a very real issue - especially with the ground-striking results they are getting at the moment - I mean a 2 and 2 x 1 in Manchuria? Seriously?
Trouble is I am running out of airbases and so I could potentially lose a 5-strength fighter to ground strike too.

German end of turn:
2 x Offensive
Preliminary planning:
3 x saved oil from Germany, Austria + Ploesti #2 (note the two traded oil from USSR go to production Stuttgart and Dresden) and Ploesti #1 and #3 to Italy production respectively (Trieste and Turin).

No units stay at sea - U-boats return to Kiel
He-115C to Sicily (74,40)
Oil reorganisation:
At a cost of 4 x oil (4.4) all land and air units plus 2 x sub and ships EXCEPT 2 x CONV 0.5, 2 X CONV .1 and the two old pre-dreadnoughts.
Production (12)
NAV (4)
FTR (2)
PIL x 2 (4)
SUB (1)
1 Point Saved (Berlin)

Italian and Japanese end of turn:
Preliminary planning:
Italy save the Romanian oil in Milan. The rest go for production. Including the Italian resource that must go to Turin. Italy has 6 BPs for production.
Japan save one oil in Tokyo. All other resources, and oil, go to production for 17 BPs.
Only CPs stay at sea.
The Italian naval bomber returns to hex 48, 33 (NE of Amsterdam)
The Italian SCS and SUBs return to La Spezia.
The Japanese TRS return to Fukuoka, while the CV and CA return to Tokyo.
Oil reorganisation:
Japan reorganizes all untis except one CV, one CA, and one CVP. For a total oil cost of 1.4. Please, use one of the oils in Tokyo.
Italy reorganize all their units for a cost of one oil (1.4).
Breakdown:
Japan breaks down the 6-3 in Tsinan. (2-3 + 1-4)
Production:
Italy (6):

Now I get to the production stage and the Austrian Oil has simply disappeared once again. Maybe there is some rule I am forgetting or something but I don't think so. RE: TOP SECRET ORM + WARSPITE ONLY (Reverse AAR)
Right so at the end of the last turn the Germans had:
2 saved Oil in Berlin
1 saved Oil in Warsaw
= 3 oil
Germany now has 7 Oil this turn
3 x Romanian
2 x Soviet
1 x German
1 x Austrian
= 10
Of these:
2 x Oil are being sent to Italy
4 x Oil are being saved + 3 existing = 7 Saved
1 x Production
The Preliminary Production screen initially shows 2 for Production and 3 for Saved. I changed one of these to save to make 4 at this time.
I use four oil to reorganise - this is all it says I have. Why? I have the three saved plus four I am saving this turn. If I can't use what I am saving this turn then why does the program allow me to use a fourth oil?

RE: TOP SECRET ORM + WARSPITE ONLY (Reverse AAR)
There seems to be a bug here. I suspect that the program thinks the Romanian oil is still traded and therefore not available at once for reorganization.
I am sure that we can fix this with some oil juggling. [;)]
I think that Germany should produce for two oil, or 18 factories. That gives 13.5 BPs minus two to USSR for a German production of 12. This is, hopefully, a production low point for EuroAxis. I am sure that the remaining oil will be enough to sustain a summer campaign with two oil being produced for.
I'll take a quick look now if the first juggling trick works. Otherwise I will have to get back later today.
