A level 7 or better port can fix up to 5 points of engineering damage too. It may take a few days for them to do it on a BB. If you put the BB in pierside repair mode and the repair time is NOT shown in red, the repairs are underway.

Thanks, BB. I know you have my back. [;)]

My big convoy is about to depart Pearl. I've got lots of support troops, and lots of maintenance type ships along, including AR, AEs, ADs and ASs. I've got a 55,000 ton floating dry dock reaching Pearl in a few days, and I'll have to summon the courage to ship her over.

Panay invaders should reach next turn, along with a troop convoy reaching Manila. That one beat up another sub. I'll keep everyone there until the fuel shipment arrives. After that, I'll keep enough transports for further operations and send the rest back. I really need troop transports back in the states, as I've stolen most of them for these ops.

07 February 1944

My super-convoy is now 9 hexes NW of Midway, plodding along.

A big group returning from the Philippines are nearing Pearl. A carrier group with 5 CVs and 3 CVLs is one hex away. The transports they were escorting are 3 days away. Everyone will get fixed up and more troops shipped out.

Out west, I have escorted transports enroute to Marcus. There I have a divisional fragment to one of the units on Luzon I'll be picking up. The "escorts" caught some targets on the way.

I landed a fragment on the eastern base on Panay. Took that base. The middle base has 2 enemy units. No idea what they are, but I'm pulling my guys out as they're fairly weak. Once Luzon is finished, I can do a "proper" retaking of the rest of the islands. Hopefully Mindanao is fairly easy.

In 2 days, my last 2 Corsairs on Mauban will be fixed and moved out. Mauban is actually the 2nd largest airfield on Luzon now, after Clark. Clark is dreadfully overstacked with planes. That's why I'm shipping more support forces from Pearl. I was going to move the two base groups there to Manila, but I think I'll leave them there. I want to eventually get the northern bases built up to cover that ways.

My shipyards at Manila are already maxed out at 25,000 tons of capacity. They started at half that when I took it. I can get my one damaged fleet carriers there fixed up.

Nice hits on those two convoys. I think those AOs are some of Japan's biggest and fastest - perhaps enemy warships are in that area?

Yeah, that's gotta hurt. I was surprised I landed torp hits on the APDs. Guess they're not that agile.

I would say most of his surfaces forces are at Saipan/Tinian. I'm getting bombarded regularly, though they've been doing little to my forces. Land-wise on Tinian, he's got about a 2-1 AV advantage right now, but every attack, despite good odds, is hurting him worse. He's still been feeding more troops into the fight, but I don't know where they're coming from. Maybe Rabaul.

I'm getting to the point where I may want to send a big carrier group down and clean the place out. I may do that when my carriers at Pearl head back. I could then evacuate the Marianas and just let them starve.

I've got B-24s at Clark doing a complete 360 search around Luzon. He's pretty much kept all his shipping away from there.

Intrepid was one of the carriers escorting my transports to Marcus. She eats a bunch of torps and goes down.

That sucked.

That's 3 carriers lost now, which, I guess, isn't too bad. Yorktown and Lexington went down January last year, during the first ugly fights around the Marianas. I also endured a nighttime airstrike on these ships, to no effect.

I'll be skirting things farther north now, near Iwo Jima. I hate getting close to that island, but he doesn't seem to have much there.

Hi Mundy, fortunately the Allies have so much stuff you can afford to be reckless [:D] Any chance to get some screenshots with maps and the intel screen?

My troops took Naga, right next to Legaspi. It's not a real powerful unit, so I'm holding for now. I'm not sure if he's evacuating or reinforcing at this point. I'm guessing the former.

Up north, I'm attacking at Laoag next turn. He's got one unit there. Other troops are heading towards Aparri. They've each only got one dot base left to retreat to after this and I can wrap this part up. Other troops are making for Manila to guard against anything sneaky.

My big convoy is halfway between Midway and Marcus. Another is departing Pearl, escorted by fleet carriers.

Getting set up.

Alabama is due to finish repairing at Mare Island next turn. That just leaves Saratoga and South Dakota which are at least a month and a half out.

Two carriers are inbound from Panama. Valley Forge and Philippine Sea. It's almost reaching the point where I don't know what to do with all these carriers. [:)]

On Luzon, I'm pretty much pushing his forces around. I got them all the way north, and now I'm driving them south. They're currently between San Fernando and Tuguegarao. Need something decisive to finish them all off.

At Legaspi, two USMC divisions plus Americal just arrived and will attack next turn. They've been softened a bit with a bombardment last turn. Lots of transports were there. Not sure if they were bringing troops in or evacuating those left.
