Two Primadonas in the South Pacific?
***************Scene: Office of General Arnold, Washington*************
Gen Arnold: "Chennault?! Chennault?! How long has that crackpot been in charge of the 7th Air Force? I thought the annoying SOB quit. I'm quite certain I did NOT approve that "
Major E. Chord: <contritely> "Officially, starting today sir. You did not approve the assignment, it was a special request of the President when you were reviewing 8th Air Force bases in England."
Gen Arnold: "Gawd, I wish the civilian leadership would let us run this thing! <takes head in hands>........Wait...Major, strike that, I did not just say that, understood?"
Major E. Chord: "Understood, sir"
Gen Arnold: "Who does he report to?"
Major E. Chord: "That would be Adm King, sir, new CIC of SouthPac"
Gen Arnold: "Poor bastard"

Fortifications of Mobile Bay...Bah
Poor, Poor Palliser [:'(]
Bloody aggressive use of IJN resources, if you ask me [:)] What the heck are the Kamaikawa Maru and APD's doing that far South?? Can the Kamikawa Maru hold a bunch of troops? If so, where the heck are they headed? New Zealand? Perhaps just bait. Interesting development though.
Note that I had the dates frame-shifted ahead by one day on the last map. [:o]

Sing to the tune of "Man on the Flying Trapeze"
..Oh! We fly o'er the treetops with inches to spare,
There's smoke in the cockpit and gray in my hair.
The tracers look fine as a strafin' we go.
But, brother, we're TOO God damn low...

Panama ain't so bad.
Gen. Brett's new command, B Coy, 320th AA Balloon Bn.*, shortly after training and deployement from Fort Davis in Tennessee, conducts an exercise over the Canal. No tittering now, we haven't seen at least 3 of the Jap carriers for weeks. We dont want another Pearl Harbor,do we.

* 320th AA Balloon Bn was probably never in Panama (they deployed to Europe)

Premium Service..Free Latte
How is this for service? Not only does the US have to make the damn things (Kittyhawks), but they get special parking places on the USS Ranger, which makes a special stop to drop them off in the Middle East and provides the drivers for door to door delivery.
Not to worry though. Just keep using those Lysanders and Wirraways a bit longer [:'(]
