china war

Post by Sneer »

6th August 42
Wuchow taken
Kweilin taken
Here I want to halt for a moment - secure freshly taken bases - when forts reach 3-4 I'll be able to move further
main chinase railroad cleared and operational
I'm little disappointed waiting for Tony autoconvertion...
in mine war I'm pleased as I'm clearing another sub's surprise and overall result is very positive to me

And yes - it is a little bit boring so time to plan new operation [8D] - I have quite a lot of forces not commited to the front so strike and come back operation is reasonable

For weeks now I have been bombing Benares but Sneer has refused to fight....this time intel shows that there is a rather large buildup of fighters at Benares which means that Sneer grows tired of me bombing the snot out of his troops. I have therefore issued orders to to the fighters at Lucknow to sweep the skies clean of jap fighters. The sky will run red with blood, but the question is whos?
Stay tuned!

I produce Tojo since July (1 month ahead of schedule)

expected results :
I was sweeped by 90 hurricanes and 80 Spitfires
77Tojo and 9 A6m3 scrambled

67hurricanes + 23 spitfires were shot down for a loss of 55 tojo and 3 A6m3

weird results aren't they ??????
over 50% of fighting a/c shot down in single day

hello - developers / moderators - it is crazy - if both sides are experienced enough than nobody returns from fights
It is game but stupid at the moment - sorry - I had to write that

It is a very surprising result -- maybe the pilots had extra rations of grog/sake that day. Speaking of pilots, how many did you manage to save?
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

all units were 80 exp
only 30% managed to survive the day

i don't mind losses - bloodiness of A2A is crazy
such losses for such forces could be after 4-5 days IRL

I'm loosing will to play Witp
we are just going into mass a2a period
I start thinking about pausing game till a2a and land combat will be repaired

I wanted to see if losses are high accidentialy and sweeped Lucknow next day
80 alllied fighter against similar amount of Tojos -
result - both sides lost ap 50 planes [X(][X(][X(]
weird!!!!! - engagement was a smaller and loss ratio even higher
it stinks

Greetings...

I guess that you have learn to live with that - like many others (including me). I'm with you about A2A combat but don't think it going to happend (then lots of stuff should be changed too if we wanted to achive balance in the game). Mike Wood gave us cookie for upcoming patch - maybe he decreased support for airfield level from 50 to 25? Thats our only hope i think....

PS did your Oscars autoupgraded?

yes
close to 10th of August
good I have excellent supply / industry situation so I can withstand such losses
my pr0duction numbers
A6m2 220
A6m3 72
Tony 182
Tojo 195
650+ fighters per month + enough supply to train pilots - much above historical Jap production - - but not in case I will loose 100 per 2 days

airfields was not overstacked so result are not good
sth like 90 allied planes destroyed in 3 bombardment runs and later counterattacks
much less then expected
good news - i reached 3mil of supply today so I'm over beginning of war level

new house rule implemented - level bombers with land target on min alt 10k - to eliminate AAGap

not good considering my battle line attacked base of 300+ heavy bombers - only 44 B17 were destroyed on airfield
low results for risk taken
i see first result of closin AA gap
Raver lost 3 wellingtons to flak over banares
also 2 b17 were shot down over lautem and 5 more crashed due damages
oops - see i did not converted all groups to 10 k - sorry Raver will change them - promise

House Rule

Post by Capt. Harlock »

Does this apply to fighter-bombers and torpedo bombers attacking land targets? Seems a bit limiting for fighter-bombers, since they historically did much damage by strafing.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

no
level bombing only
there is no need to think about fb now
current rule is good
Raver can achieve similar results as before on my bases but he will loose some planes

That was a nasty naval bombardment at Darwin! [:-][:D]
looks like this bombardment + house rule about level bomber lowered pressure on timor

Wow -- remarkable results from the pounding at Darwin. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were softening it up for invasion.

50k troops reported and probably 7-9 forts today
+ hundreds of planes and supporting bases
not encouraging enough
I wanted to show that bases with so many a/c parked are vulnerable
looks like Raver has 300 b-17 there used to bombing campaign and sth like 150 other planes in case naval attack would be desired and for cap purposes ( b-17 don't need cap as unless he hit my mayor base i would only loose pilots)

good news is that many disbanded air sqn are back - or will be back and squadrons which got remanents earlier has often 10-15 surplus 80 exp pilots

Raver has never pointed that directly but Southern DEI is a place he wants to fight and where I'll face his offensive movement in 43
Gilberts / baker / canton is too difficult to attack early - maybe with multiple axis assault in 3-4 points
northern approaches are secured much better than in any AAR I read on forum so it should hold long enough - even if us fleet would be involved
India - will be difficult to gather enough troops to have advantage in numbers in early 43 so it is late 43-early44 to fight

so it is southern DEI where most interesting fights will take place

Actually i'm bit suprised that Raver is easy going with his planes. I would never expect that from him...Ok, you can do it once, but not twice or more.
