Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Dixie

Hope you're having fun mate, my Dad was on the phone from that neck of the woods a couple of days ago. He said he watched you (not you personally but the ship) leave port whilst he was off duty and they were tied up alongside.

You father is in RN Martin?

I had no idea...

Ah good to be back. I was brought to my knees by the flu over the weekend. God that was hell 103.4F. fever. Had to cancel my trip with a buddy to the cities. We were going to get together with some of the boys who live down there and do a little mayhem. I would have liked to have tried to get ahold of Foghorn Leghorn (Chickenboy). Also we didn't know at the time that the Sioux were going to be in the cities for the regionals. Television is going to be okay though.

Sorry I missed the opportunity to hoist a brewski with 'ya, Shanilec. Also sorry about your illness. Hope you're feeling better-some 70F weather oughta help a bit too. [8D]

I was in monday for 6 hours. That was a big mistake. I left home with a 101.4F and came home with 102.6F. Much, much better today. Still no appetite. The good news; I dropped over ten pounds.

I really would have enjoyed that quaff. There'll be another time in the future, soon I hope.

I have quite a few buddies from here living in the cities. The trick is that you have to spray for them early on or you get an infestation that you can't rid and your stuck with them. With a gestation period of 90 days you have a huge problem on your hands.[:D]

The first months as Japan are a bit irritating. Enemy submarines are basically invulnerable; if the Mk 14 actually worked I'd be in trouble. And don't get me started about China.

I'm a bit behind schedule thanks to AI spoiling attacks at sea, but I have managed to sink a few Dutch cruisers who thought they were being clever. Even if the Long Lances can't hit water when they're fired out of a torpedo tube.

Speaking of Japan, Fall of the Samurai was released a day early. Back to the 1860's we go!

Good mid morning everyone..

Brad- as for the rain comment.. this last summer we have 70 out of 90 days of 100 plus heat... so it is a nice change, and great for the wheat.

Keep at it something will shake loose. Took me eight months.
I still need hours though.

Golf should be starting up any time now. Ankle and knee still need a little bit more healing time. But golf is in the near future.
And I have my new fatigue pants.[:)]
That was part of the plan for the cities this weekend. Albeit I would have relegated myself to piloting the golf cart, drinking and my always wanted commentary.
Looks to be a fine weekend. I think yard work is on the schedule.
And college hockey regional play-offs begin tonight. Boston College and U-Mass.

They still keeping you on part time?

That bites. They moved me to full time as of last fall...but i'm still a Contractor. They switched Staffing companies in Febuary but wanted me to stay on so I had to in effect, apply all over for the same job, including background check and everything. That was a pain....(but beats unemployment) Still......it would have been nice if i could have been offered a permanent position.

The most basic corvette in Fall of the Samurai is a wooden paddle-wheel steamer called the Kaiten class. I have to remind myself not to sail directly at the enemy ships, screaming "RAMMING SPEED! BANZAI!".

San Antonio and the hill country of Texas are looking wonderful! Beautiful green pastures. Idle chit chat with the locals suggests that the cattle herds will be coming back and the area recovering. Keeping fingers crossed for a "mild" Texas summer down there.
