The eagle-eyed observers on the Catalinas catch sight of the Japanese sub flotillas on the surface. Searches: Axis 6, Allies 4. Do they want to include both subs (boxes 3 and 4) or just one of them?
warspite1

Only the sub in the 3-box please and the surprise points are spent on increasing the combat column to 1 damaged + 2 aborted please.

Edit: can't spell [8|]

A series of near misses cause enough minor damage to force the subs to scrub their mission. I presume the Allies stay?

Having dived to avoid the enemy aircraft, the remaining sub flotilla are pleasantly surprised when they come back to periscope depth and find themselves in the middle of an Allied convoy. Searches: Axis 2, Allies 9.

Before the Allies can react, the convoy is ripped apart and the sub retreats to the depths unscathed. Eleven surprise points enabled the choice of combat and the remainder increasing damage.

The sub stays to fight. How about the Allies?

The Jap sub stays deep, so no combat. The aborted sub returns to Batavia.

Next, the Marshals.

US Mariner pilots are dismayed when they spot Japanese fighters bearing in. The Japanese roll a 20. Before I input this, are there still any BP's the Allies need refunding?

I believe so but I thought that was for the CW only. To be on the safe side leave it for now and carry on.

Yes, I think you are right about it being CW.

It's an unequal match.

Bay of Biscay

Italian NAV initiates searching. Do the Allies wish to add a B-25C? It can reach up to the 2-box.

Searches: Axis 5, Allies 2. No combat.

Finally, East Med.

CW can fly Hurricane up to 1-box and Lanc' up to 3-box. Italians haven't added anything.

The Indian Hurricane squadrons are ordered into the air to fly cap over the convoys.

The *Italians commit their subs.

Searches: Axis 2, Allies 3.

The Italian subs sneak in amongst the CW convoys at night, avoiding both the air cover and escorts, and reap a grim harvest (0-box chosen. 4 points to choose combat and 2 points to increase damage).

Do the Allies stay?

No air is added by the Italians and the sub stays deep.

Searches: Axis 10, Allies 5. No combat.

Do the US want to strike a blow for democracy in the Timor Sea?

No thank-you. I suspect if I did, the only blow I would land would be one right in my own face.... [:D]
