Did you guys here Schumacher came out of his coma and has left the hospital? I'm sure his recovery will take a very long time, but this is good news.
warspite1

He hasn't left hospital - he has been transferred to a different hospital. After losing so much body weight and all that brings, he can't be in the best of health - regardless of his brain injury. But clearly the development that he is out of a coma and is capable of transfer is amazing given the "expert" prognosis being handed out previously. He's one tough cookie that's for sure....

I'm sorry, Warspite, I thought I heard he was out of the hospital. Well, still good news in light of his accident.

Good news indeed, based on previous reports I never thought he would awake from his coma.

Let's hope he pulls through.

Quote from formula1.com 16.06.2014

Schumacher out of coma, leaves hospital

Michael Schumacher, who suffered serious head injuries in a skiing accident last December, is no longer in a coma, according to his management.

Furthermore, the seven-time world champion has now left Grenoble’s University Hospital in France to ‘continue his long phase of rehabilitation’.

“His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months,” read a statement.

“The family also wishes to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the many good wishes to Michael. We are sure it helped him.”

Schumacher, 45, was placed in an induced coma after falling and hitting his head on a rock during a family ski trip. The German’s medical team began reducing his sedation at the end of January.

“For the future we ask for understanding that his further rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye,” concluded Monday’s statement.

With seven drivers’ titles, 91 Grand Prix victories and 68 pole positions, Schumacher remains the most successful driver in Formula One history. He retired at the end of the 2012 season.

I just wonder what state he really is, nearly half a year in hospital, with serious injuries. I am not looking forward to the first pics or interviews since his accident, he will not be the Schumacher we remember.

According to the papers yesterday he was being transferred to a hospital in Switzerland to continue his fight. Seems strange that he could go from intensive care to home, no?

I assume he is going to Reha Centre or he will have a team at one of his homes, working full time.

It is estimated that he earned €600.000.000 and every year he gets another €10 million from Mercedes.

So that might be a possiblity.

I remember the old Hockenheim circuit. The long straight in the woods, if I remember correctly something like 2 km long. Scraped, taken off the circuit. Was a real headache for the teams how to set up the car. fast corner speed or speed on the straight.

I just hope the new Austrian circuit will be worth the watching.

Incredible! How many mistakes is Rosberg going to get away with??? [&:] Lewis needs to up his game or the championship has gone [:(].

And while I'm in grumpy mode, why do Lewis's pit-stops take forever?

On a brighter note, the grid girls costumes in Austria are always nice to see [:)]

Back to Silverstone this weekend - the place where the World Championship started in 1950.

Good luck to Lewis, Jenson and Max racing in front of their home fans.

I get the feeling this is the most crucial race of the season. If Lewis loses ground to Rosberg (for whatever reason)in this race then its championship over [:(]

Still not happy about drivers changing their crash helmet designs but this is a nice touch from Nico Rosberg to honour the German World Cup triumph

Yes and, like the Osterreichring, Hockenheim was emasculated because the old track was deemed too dangerous.

Yeah, but his driving was perfect and his team worked really well. Loved Lewis complaining that his tyres were no good and then they did the 3rd pit stop. Marvelous.

Shame he and David had a little shunt and he couldn't make the 2nd place, but after being in the last grid row and then the podium, I doubt he could really complain.

The title is getting more and more exciting. A few more days till Hungary.
