Casualties seem high but they are mostly disablements. Time is on my side with an ever increasing advantage. We rest and then attack again.

SS Harder found a loaded transport today! She was moving into position deep in the Phillipine Sea when she found the heavily defended convoy 240 miles west of Tori Shima. She hit AP Hikawa Maru with a torpedo. The escorting destroyer Mikazuki placed a couple of DC's near the bridge causing minor damage and flooding. The patrol continues.

The 29th was fairly quiet with bombing runs over Burma and the usual land bombardments.

A bit more action on 30th.

SS Capelin had a fun filled day in sinking the freighter Tatuno Maru with 2 torpedo's 180 miles ESE of Batan Island. She was tracked by the escorting MSW's, managed to evade them and fired her last 4 torpedo's at AK Syozin Maru. These hit but failed to detonate[:-]

Darwin launched a massive air strike against Amboina's airfields today. My men had not flown for many a day and results were excellent. 4 x Dinah recon aircraft were confirmed destroyed on the ground and no planes were lost on my side.

I was doing a lot of looking around my forces today and it's AMAZING how many groups of Mediums and fighters I have. The main problem with my position at present is the lack of bases and airfields WITHIN range of enemy bases to stage and use these planes.

I have come to a decision on my future operation. I will await a while before announcing it for security reasons though[;)]

SS Kingfish was hunted throughout the day by 3 x MSW and 2 x DD. DD Manazaru dropped several DC's some of which landed in the vicinity of the submarine. Damage is slight and she'll be ok 11 SYS, 8 FLT. This action took place inbetween Iwo Jima and Pagan.
 
SS Halibut heavily damaged the Freighter Shinamogawa Maru with a torpedo 180 miles of Pagan.
 
SS Sawfish put a torpedo into the port side of AK Bengal Maru NW of San Marcelino.

Hi all,

A lull in the work this morning so time to crank out a few PBEM turns.

The 6th was fairly quiet wit ha couple of Japanese freighters getting tagged by my subs.

More success on 7th though with the hunters turned the hunted!

2 x ASW ships were heavily damaged by my submarines in the South China Sea.

Firstly, PG Keiko Maru was hit by SS Silversides 240 miles SW of Hong Kong.

2 hours later SS Grampus heavily damaged the fleet destroyer Murakumo with a torpedo 240 miles south of Hong Kong.

Earlier in the day SS Paddle unsuccessfully attacked a transport 240 miles ESE of Tori Shima.

I have started initial preparations for my next invasion. I'm still not disclosign where it is yet but I can tell you it is to be called Operation Kestrel. Loading has bwegun in Australia of:

SS Skipjack performed a successful attack on an oil laden Tanker 120 miles NE of Jesselton. The Daishin Maru was left heavily burning and will probably sink.

PG Keiko Maru, hit on 7th, was confirmed sunk outside of Hong Kong.

My 'surprise' raid on Lunga was partially successful. 2 x B24D BG's flew from Luganville. 13 x A6M3's and 21 x Tojo's rose to meet my 96 x B24's. 14 x Liberators were lost but 32 x enemy planes were destroyed - 11 x Tojo's, 11 x Betties and 10 x Zero's.

CVL Belleau Wood received Hellcats today [8D]

SS Dace and Redfin left San Francisco today for duties in the Pacific.

Hi all,

This day will be remembered as the first in the Pacific War that the Royal Navy struck back[8D]

The CV's Formidable, Vicotrious and Illustrious attacked an enemy TK convoy in Palembang harbour. These ships were spotted by a patrolling Walrus who radioed back. 28 x Avengers took off escorted by 15 x Corsair's.

18 enemy aircraft were on CAP (Tojos and Tonys). 1 of these was lost but also downed a Corsair. My planes got through the CAP and sank TK Hishi MAru and MSW's Fuji Maru and Hagoromo Maru.

2 hours later 30 enemy Sallys and Betties escorted by 11 Zero's appeared over head my CV's. 44 x Corsairs were on CAP and performed admirablly. 20 x Sallies, 15 x Betties and 7 x Zeros were shot down for no loss. The rest of the ombers made attacks on my CV's but recorded no hits.

Recon indicates 30+ ships in port but my CV's are to move 60 miles NE and conduct attacks on the oil facilities at Palembang before retiring to Columbo.

SS Snook sank ML Wakatake 240 mils east of Saipan[8D]

SS Apogon heavily damaged the lone freighter Shojin Maru with 8 shells and 2 torpedo's SW of Tori Shima

SS Silversides and SS Seawolf unfortunately missed their merchant targets.
