Their suspenders are holding up their 'knickers'. Please note that they are not, however, wearing stockings. Those things covering their lower legs are (gulp) thigh-high leather boots. [X(]

Getting this picture posted innumerable times (btw - good use of the word innumerable there) is just childish - not behaviour I am going to engage in.....much [;)].

I can see the young ladies are not wearing stockings, although frankly they should be, as a supplement to the (gulp) thigh-high leather boots

Yes, is the British vernacular, "suspenders" hold stockings up but what you see pictured there are "braces" that are used to hold up your pants.

Wait a minute there, my fine feathered friend. Gordon Gecko, ever the American...erm...Colonialist...would have insisted that he was wearing suspenders, laughing off the suggestion that he was wearing bracers. Perhaps he had bracers in the boot of his automobile. [:'(]
